Yesterday, 3 FFA members showed animals at the Section 20 fair held at the Jasper County Fairgrounds. Will Deters showed goats, Lance Apke showed pigs, and Blake Vahling showed chickens. Good job to them all!

State convention 2026 recap! The 7 officers traveled up to Springfield on Tuesday. In the first session, Teutopolis FFA was recognized for the Harvest for All award. Emily Meyer and Rachel Brummer went up on stage to accept the award. Then we attended the 2nd session that evening. To end the night we went bowling at King Pin.

On Wednesday we started off early by attending the 3rd session followed by the 4th session that afternoon. There was also a career fair to explore and workshops to attend throughout the day.

Thursday consisted of attending the voting session in the morning. Will Deters and Jack Mersman were delegates and got to vote on the Major State Officers for the coming year. The 5th and final session was that afternoon. Jack Mersman got to go on stage and be recognized for earning 1st place in state for Ag Mechanics Carpentry. Officers made dinner that evening and got to do some planning for the chapter for the coming year.

Then we wrapped everything up with the officers making breakfast Friday morning and left for home. This trip was filled with new experiences and learning opportunities and we can’t wait for next year!

Teutopolis FFA members hosted a petting zoo at the Golf Cart Movie Night last night. Thank you to Teutopolis for Tomorrow for inviting us! We enjoyed it!

STATE CHAMPION!! 🔨🏆

So proud of Jack Mersman for bringing home the win in Ag Mechanics Carpentry at the state level! All the long hours, hard work, and attention to detail paid off in a huge way.

Watching you grow your skills and confidence has been awesome, and this accomplishment is so well deserved. Thank you for representing our chapter so well and showing what hard work can do.

It has been busy the past couple of days for some of our members!

On Wednesday, the new 7 officers for the 2026-2027 school year attended the section 20 banquet. Congratulations to Will Deters on being elected to section treasurer and he was also recognized for placing 2nd at the Ag Business CDE. Congratulations to Jack Mersman on winning the section level for his SAE record book and congratulations to the newly elected 2026-2027 section officer team!

Congratulations to the ag mechanics team for placing 2nd at the competition on Thursday!

Congratulations to our livestock judging team as they competed today at the Jasper County Fairgrounds. The team placed 3rd and congratulations to Will Deters for placing 4th individually. Thank you to Newton for hosting this contest!

Congratulations to our Ag Business and Horticulture team as they competed at Lake Land College yesterday. They finished 2nd in Ag Business and 5th in Horticulture. Congratulations to Will Deters for placing 2nd, Jack Mersman for placing 3rd, and Blake Vahling for placing 6th in Ag Business. Congratulations to Carly Kingery for placing 3rd in Horticulture.

Thank you to the Effingham County Pork Producers for your continued support! Our members not only participate in 4-h, we also help with the Pork Producers stand during the fair and help with parking cars. Come see our members during the Effingham County Fair
