For Heather Ray, becoming a teacher was never really a question.
Ray, an eighth-grade science teacher at Furlough Middle School, grew up watching her father, a man who never finished high school, raise three educators. “He told us that the sky was not the limit—that we could break through it,” Ray said. ⏰ Every Minute Matters at FMS!

Being on time to class helps students start strong, stay focused, and get the full benefit of instruction. Even a few minutes late can mean missing important directions, instruction, or the start of a lesson.

Starting August 17, we will track student tardies. We’re asking families to partner with us by reminding students that being on time is an important part of being ready to learn.
