Tonight our incoming Student Leadership team worked together! They stepped out of their comfort zones, persevered through some team building activities and are helping our Team committee plan for this school year!

That's a wrap for our 2026 Camp Read S'more! We started by reading about sea animals that looked like they were from outer space. Then we tried our hands at creating sand art ocean pics. It was so much fun and once again I'm amazed by our talent on the prairie. Thank you Vigo County Education Foundation for supplying the funds for our entire summer Camp Read S'more program. It's always nice to spend time with our families outside of the curriculum constraints we have during the school year, to have fun just for the sake of having fun, to support our love of reading, and to provide an opportunity to tap into our creative selves. See you all in 2 weeks!

OMG! I just realized I forgot to post our pics from last week, July 14th, at Camp Read S'more. Last week was all about the creepy crawlies, in particular, spiders. After reading our "Come Closer" book, which gave us an up close and personal look at the creepy crawlies we love (or don't!), we got a little taste of what it was like to be a spider by weaving our own webs and creating a spider zip line!

We have 1 more Camp Read S'more next week as we wrap up our summer shenanigans! See you there!

Tuesday night we put on our paleontology hats for dinosaur night at Camp Read S'more. First we read a funny safety story about what NOT to do to become extinct like the dinosaurs. Then we tapped into our creative sides and created dinosaur "stained glass" ornaments. Finally, we got out our digging tools and unveiled our own dinosaur skeleton.

Next week is our last week of Camp Read S'more! See you Tuesday at 6!
