💙 OT in Action: Supporting Our Future Kindergarteners! ✏️
Two of our Indiana State University Occupational Therapy students are volunteering their time at Fuqua Elementary to support incoming kindergarten students as they prepare for this exciting transition!
After noticing some areas where students may benefit from additional support—including fine motor skills and hand dexterity, endurance with holding utensils, and muscle strength and tone—the school is seeking resources and strategies to help children build these foundational skills for classroom success.
This is a wonderful example of occupational therapy in action! OT is about helping people participate in the everyday activities that matter, and for young children, that includes developing the skills needed to learn, play, eat, create, and grow more independent. 🌟
We are proud of our students for sharing their time, knowledge, and passion for making a difference in our local community. Their efforts demonstrate the heart of occupational therapy: meeting people where they are and helping them reach their full potential. 💙💛
