Clinical Simulation Specialist

The Clinical Simulation Specialist is a core member of RHIC’s Education and Curriculum Circle, responsible for designing, building, and facilitating the simulation experiences delivered across RHIC’s programs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Education and Curriculum, this position is the primary creator of the case content, character work, and scenario materials that bring RHIC simulations to life. The Clinical Simulation Specialist combines clinical realism with sound educational design to produce scenarios that meet learner needs, partner-facility realities, and current standards of practice.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, allied health, healthcare education, adult education, instructional design, or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in healthcare education, clinical training, simulation-based education, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated ability to design educational content for adult learners
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in nursing, education, instructional design, or a related field.
• Clinical background or healthcare work experience (no active license required).
• Prior experience designing or facilitating SP-based or manikin-based simulations.
• CHSE certification, or eligibility and willingness to pursue within 24 months of hire.
• Familiarity with INACSL Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP) and ASPE Standards of Best Practice for SP-based education.
• Experience with debriefing frameworks such as PEARLS or Debriefing with Good Judgment.
• Experience working with rural healthcare settings or interprofessional learner groups.
Simulation Events Coordinator

The Simulation Events Coordinator is responsible for the physical setup, day-of ex*****on, and post-event breakdown of all simulation events at the RHIC Simulation Center and partner sites. This role is the operational backbone of individual simulation events, ensuring that every session is precisely configured, fully stocked, and ready to deliver a high-quality learning experience. The Simulation Events Coordinator serves as a welcoming first point of contact for learners, faculty, guests, and visitors entering the Simulation Center, greets individuals professionally and warmly, and orients them to the space as appropriate.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree OR Associates Degree with at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare, simulation-based education, or academic-related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• 1–2 years of experience in event setup, staging, hospitality, healthcare, or a similar hands-on operational environment
• Experience working in a healthcare, clinical, or education setting
• Familiarity with simulation equipment or audiovisual systems
• Experience supervising or providing direction to student workers or part-time staff
