Cruising the ‘Bash! Thank you John McWilliams!
Every town had a corner like that one — a drive-in glowing in the dark, a row of cars parked at an angle, and a handful of guys who had absolutely nowhere else they needed to be. Nobody had a curfew that actually stuck. You just knew when your mother's porch light meant business. The cars ran a little too loud and the boys drove them a little too fast, and everybody's parents knew exactly which corner to check first if you went missing. Now some of those same boys pick up their grandkids in a sensible sedan and obey every speed limit sign like it's scripture. But ask them about a Friday night in 1959 and watch their eyes light up. That trouble never really left them — it just learned to sit still.
