Today, we are absolutely thrilled to honor Mr. Rauch, an incredible educator with a heart of gold who is always ready to step up and help any student, whether they are in his classroom or not. Now in his sixth year of teaching and his second year as a proud Franklin Falcon, he has quickly become an essential part of our school family. When asked about his favorite part of the job, Mr. Rauch shared that it is making meaningful connections with students and helping them achieve personal growth. He truly knows and cares deeply for his kids, creating a relaxed, comfortable environment by seamlessly blending comedy into his daily routine. The students absolutely love his famous physical humor, like fake-tripping and playfully falling into walls, just to get their attention and make them smile.
Beyond the joy he brings to his classroom, Mr. Rauch is a dedicated and highly involved leader across our campus. As our Third Grade Team Lead on the Core Team, he plays a crucial role in advocating for our school's needs and ensuring Franklin continues to be an amazing place to learn. His hard work on the HRS team was also instrumental in helping our school achieve its Level 1 certification. Over the years, he has generously given his time to coach football, basketball, and t-ball, showing his dedication to student success on and off the field. He loves connecting with our community at after-school events and is already incredibly excited for our upcoming Fall Festival on October 29th at 5:00 PM.
When he isn't making our school a better place, you can find Mr. Rauch passionately rooting for his favorite Ohio sports teams, especially cheering on the Guardians during their playoff run. However, of all his achievements, nothing makes him prouder than his newest title: Dad. He and his wife—our wonderful Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Rauch—recently added a beautiful baby boy to their nest. We are endlessly grateful for the dedication, laughter, and amazing energy Mr. Rauch brings to our team every single day. He truly makes Franklin a better place to be!

🎉 Tuesday was our monthly Token Tuesday! 🎟️✨
This month, we focused on Great Attendance! ⏰📚
Did you know? If a child misses just one day of school a month from Kindergarten through 12th grade, they will miss 130 days of school by the time they graduate. That is the equivalent of nearly three-quarters of an entire school year of lost learning! Every day truly counts. 💡🏫
We are so proud of the students who were chosen this month to receive a book from our Book Vending Machine! 📖🎁
👀 Looking ahead to next month: We will be on the lookout for students demonstrating the best behavior practices in their classrooms. Keep up the fantastic work, everyone! 🌟👏

We are absolutely thrilled to shine our staff spotlight on our phenomenal second-grade teacher, Ms. Calvert! Currently in her eighth year with our school corporation and her seventh year soaring with us as a Benjamin Franklin Falcon, Ms. Calvert brings an unmatched passion and warmth to our hallways. You can instantly tell how deeply she cares for her students by her favorite part of teaching: creating a tight-knit classroom family. She pours her heart into learning each child’s unique personality and interests, and she considers watching those relationships grow—while ensuring every student feels valued, known, and loved—to be the absolute most rewarding part of her job. She brings this same magic to her lesson plans, regularly transforming her room into immersive, enriching environments for unforgettable experiences like Glow Day and Disney Day. Her love for Disney runs deep, too; she is such an avid fan that she even met the voice actress of Ariel from The Little Mermaid this past summer!

Beyond the walls of her second-grade classroom, Ms. Calvert’s positive impact ripples throughout our entire community. She is a vital part of our school’s Staff Social Committee, where she works to celebrate her peers and boost staff morale. She also serves on our HRS (High Reliability Schools) Team, a dedicated leadership group focused on implementing best practices to ensure our school maintains a safe, supportive, and highly effective learning environment where every single student can thrive. Her dedication to kids doesn't stop at the dismissal bell, either. She shares her school spirit as the coach of the West Vigo Middle School Valkyries Dance Team and leads the kids' summer camp at the Country Club of Terre Haute. Furthermore, she is an active member of The League of Terre Haute, an amazing local organization that supports children in our community through service projects and provides essential resources for clothing and dental needs. We are so incredibly excited to witness the amazing work she does every single day. Her students are beyond lucky to have her as a teacher!

Yesterday, our Falcons had a special visit from The NED Show! 🪀✨

Here are a few highlights from our school assembly! The NED Show is designed to promote positive behavior, perseverance, and academic achievement while encouraging students to believe in themselves and keep working toward their goals.

Our Falcons had a great time learning, laughing, and being inspired! 💙💛

🪀 Want to keep the NED fun going? Mrs. Atterson will be selling NED’s famous yo-yos all week long! Students can get their very own yo-yo and continue practicing the skills and lessons they learned during the assembly.

Ask your Falcon tonight: What did you learn from NED, and how can you “Never Give Up” this week? 🦅

Meet Ms. Milner! 🍎✨
This is Ms. Milner's very first year of teaching, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her to our school family! Her absolute favorite part of the job? Her amazing students!
When she's not inspiring young minds in the classroom, Ms. Milner is bringing the fun to our BUG Awards committee! BUG stands for Bringing Up Grades, recognizing students for making academic leaps and keeping up straight A's. And here's the best part: one lucky BUG student will ride away on a brand-new bike at the end of the year! 🚲🎉
Outside of school, Ms. Milner is a proud cat lover and a total Gilmore Girls fan—how purr-fect is that? 🐱☕ She also adores all things cozy, from warm coffee and scented candles to fluffy blankets and movie nights. 🍿🎬We are so beyond lucky to have her on our team.

Our 4th grade Falcons recently stepped back in time and experienced what life was like as a pioneer! 🏡🌾

Thank you to everyone who helped make this field trip such a meaningful and memorable learning experience. We love when learning comes to life, and what a great way to spend the school day!

Our Falcons had the opportunity to learn, explore, and experience history in a whole new way. We are so thankful for everyone who helped make this day possible! 💙💛

Today, our Falcons wore red to show our support for Sickle Cell Awareness Month!

This cause holds a very special place in our hearts because sickle cell disease affects a very special family in our Benjamin Franklin community.

Ms. Brenay’s daughter, Demijae, is 9 years old and was diagnosed with Sickle Cell SS through her newborn screening. Her journey has included her first hospital admission at just 6 months old, multiple blood transfusions, a spinal tap, a blood exchange, and so much more.

Today, our Franklin family came together to remind this amazing young lady that she is not alone and that her community has her back! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who wore red and helped us show Demijae and her family just how much they are loved and supported. We are proud to stand with you! ❤️
