Looking for a campus job that offers more than just a paycheck? The Department of Multidisciplinary Studies is hiring a Student Office Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This position is a great opportunity to build career-ready skills, gain professional office experience, and become more involved with the students, faculty, programs, and events that make our department thrive.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
✨Welcome and assist students, faculty, and staff
✨Answer phones, respond to emails, and help connect people with resources
✨Support departmental events
✨Create flyers and assist with promotional projects
✨Maintain databases and create spreadsheets

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

🎉 Celebrating Multidisciplinary Excellence – Spring 2026 🎉

On April 29, 2026, the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies came together for our 2026 Spring Reception, recognizing an incredible year of achievement, growth, and impact.

We celebrated milestones across our community, including Ms. Pitts, who completed her Professional Communication Certificate in May 2025, and students who expanded their learning through an interdisciplinary study trip to Paraguay.

Our department also welcomed Dr. YuanYuan Xing as a visiting scholar in Fall 2025, co-teaching on the Chinese Economy and enriching our global perspective.

Throughout the year, our students and faculty stayed actively engaged—from Homecoming traditions to presenting at the Midwest Economics Conference in Chicago.

Dr. Namita Goswami, Professor of Philosophy, recently served as the keynote speaker for the 2026 Southern Journal of Philosophy Workshop at the University of Memphis.
