🍎🍂 A Taste of Fall & a Plate Full of Learning! 🍁🍎

Our Wildcats are filling their plates AND their minds with healthy learning! 🌟

Thanks to the County Office of Education’s Nutrition Education Program, students have been exploring the importance of fruits as part of a healthy MyPlate! 🍽️ This month, they even had the opportunity to put their taste buds to the test with a special fall treat, persimmons! 🧡

The learning doesn’t stop there! Our amazing teachers are bringing the flavors of fall into their classrooms by incorporating seasonal apple-themed lessons into ELA and science instruction. 🍏🔬📚

From discovering new foods to making connections across subjects, our Wildcats are learning that healthy habits and hands-on experiences make for a delicious combination!

🎓🐾 Wildcats Take on CSUB! 💙💛

Our middle school students traded the classroom for a college campus and spent the day exploring California State University, Bakersfield! 🎒✨

From walking the campus and checking out college life to experiencing something new, this trip was all about giving our students a glimpse of what their futures could hold. 💭🎓

Middle school might seem a little early to start thinking about college but we believe BIG dreams can start right now! 🌟 Sometimes all it takes is stepping onto a college campus to begin thinking, “I could see myself here someday.”

🐔🐷🐑 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🎡

Our Expanded Learning students had a fantastic day at the Tulare County Fair! Students rotated through hands-on showmanship stations featuring chickens, pigs, and sheep, giving them the opportunity to learn about animal care, handling, and agriculture.

They also explored the fair’s indoor exhibits, visited the CAL FIRE booth and toured the fairgrounds while discovering more about the people, careers, and traditions that make our community special.

We love providing our students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that spark curiosity and connect classroom learning to the world around them! ❤️🖤🐾

On Thursday, September 17, Ms. Acosta was recognized by Tulare County Office of Education as the Elementary Educator of the Year. We are incredibly proud of her for this accomplishment. Congratulations and so well deserved! We love Ms. Acosta and are so fortunate to have her as one of our teachers. She is part of what makes our school so special. ❤️🐾

🐾❤️🤍💙 Saucelito FFA exhibitors had a great showing at Tulare County Fair this week! 💙🤍❤️🐾

Our students have spent months and countless hours preparing their livestock projects for this one week. Adylene Sanchez and Kenzie Serafin proudly showed crossbred market hogs, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively. 🐖

Making their FFA debuts in the lamb and goat rings are Belinda Avila and Eli Blackmon. Both exhibitors took 1st in their market lamb classes and Eli had a 3rd place finish with both of his breeding goats. 🐐

In the showmanship ring, Eli earned the title of Overall Best FFA Sheep Showman! 🏆 He’ll compete in Large Animal Round Robin on Saturday and we couldn’t be more proud. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Moving on to indoor exhibits, lots of blue ribbon winners for students in all grades along with a Best in Show for Evelyn Carpio’s trail mix. 🏅

When everyone contributes and everyone belongs, student success happens. It’s the Saucelito way.

We are also extremely grateful for the staff, parent and community support. From add-ons, ringside cheers, late night walks from the ring to the barn and text messages checking in, our students have felt the love this week. If you have a chance this weekend, stop by and see our exhibitors. We’ve still got 2 more days to go. 🎡
