📚❤️ Book Buddies Are Back! ❤️📚
We’re kicking off the school year with our first Book Buddies event and it was the perfect reminder that learning to read is even more meaningful when we learn together!
Our 8th grade students stepped into leadership roles as they partnered with our TK and Kindergarten students. As reading buddies, our eighth graders encouraged, supported, and celebrated their younger partners as they explored books and built early literacy skills. 📖🐾
Early literacy lays the foundation for future learning. When children develop strong reading skills at a young age, they gain confidence, vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of learning that can carry with them throughout their school years.
But Book Buddies is about more than reading. It gives our youngest Wildcats someone to look up to while giving our oldest students an opportunity to lead, mentor, encourage, and serve as positive role models. Watching our eighth graders patiently guide and cheer on their buddies is what being a school community is all about! ❤️🖤
We are so proud of our eighth graders for leading with kindness and our TK and Kindergarten students for being eager, excited readers! Big Wildcats helping little Wildcats grow, one book at a time! 📚🐾
