We’re excited to welcome our newest Oconee RESA GaTAPP candidates as they begin their journey in the Teacher Alternative Preparation Program as late hires in our partner school districts!

New Journey. Strong Foundation. Brighter Futures.

These future educators are ready to EDUCATE • EMPOWER • ELEVATE as they learn, grow, build, and inspire in classrooms across our region.

Congratulations, GaTAPP candidates! We’re proud to build alongside you as we continue Building Georgia’s Future, One Teacher at a Time.

🍎 Our GaTAPP Team!

Sheila Poole (left), Nicki Coneway (middle), and Carolyn Whitaker (right) help support and grow new teachers across our region! ❤️

GaTAPP is Georgia’s alternative pathway to teacher certification, giving individuals who didn’t take the traditional education route an opportunity to become certified teachers.

These three help our GaTAPP candidates learn the ropes, build confidence, and grow into great educators. We’re so thankful for the experience, encouragement, and heart they bring to this work!

đź’™ Leadership with Heart đź’™

Strong leadership makes a difference, and at Oconee RESA, we are fortunate to have two leaders who are deeply committed to the schools and districts we serve.

Executive Director and GNETS of Oconee Director, Eddie Morris, leads with vision, dedication, and a genuine heart for supporting our region.

And Dawn Howell who truly wears many hats! 🎩 As our GLRS Director, Professional Learning Director, and Assistant Executive Director, Dawn’s leadership and commitment can be seen across so many areas of our work.

Thank you both for leading with purpose, service, and heart!

Meet the Team That Keeps Us in Line! (Missy Allen (left), Frieda Brinson (right))

They may work in Finance, but don’t let the spreadsheets fool you. These ladies know how to bring the FUN! 🎉

They keep the numbers balanced, the details straight, and the rest of us on track.

We’re so thankful for the team behind the scenes who keeps everything running smoothly while making Oconee RESA a great place to work.

The Oconee RESA Regional Literacy Team is excited to be partnering with district and school leaders and school-based literacy coaches to grow strong literacy support across our region.

By working together, sharing what we’re learning, and building on the great work already happening in our schools and classrooms, we can strengthen the support that literacy coaches provide to teachers. HB 1193 may guide the work, but the heart of it is simple: helping more kids become confident readers.
