Carson greeted Mrs. Brewer in the hallway by name and made eye contact—a simple moment that showed confidence, respect, and connection.👏 Capturing Kids Hearts in action!

Lily worked through her math problem set with careful, independent thinking, showing focus, perseverance, and ownership of her learning.✏️🧠

We are so proud of these students for showing up each day with the right mindset and a clear understanding of their role as learners. These are the everyday choices that make our school a better place!

🇺🇸❤️ A Special Reminder: Our Annual Remembrance Walk is TOMORROW! ❤️🇺🇸

Tomorrow at 8:30 AM,our HPE community will come together for our annual Remembrance Walk— a meaningful tradition honoring our first responders and remembering the lives and sacrifices connected to September 11.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible counselors for the intentional work they put into honoring those who serve our community. Mrs. Phillips thoughtfully plans our Remembrance Walk each year, while Ms. Whitley leads and supports our amazing military-connected activities and events throughout the year. We are incredibly grateful for the heart, care, and dedication they pour into making sure our students understand the importance of service, sacrifice, courage, and gratitude.❤️

We are also deeply thankful for the first responders, military members, and countless heroes who have served—and continue to serve—our communities, as well as those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

HPE families are invited to join us tomorrow at 8:30 AM as we walk together in remembrance, gratitude, and honor.

📚✏️ *Third Grade is ROCKIN’ the learning!*🤘

Our third graders were hard at work today, showing incredible focus and engagement! In reading, students practiced a close read, digging into the text to identify evidence that supports the theme or central idea. 🔎📖

We love seeing our C**ts thinking deeply, working hard, and putting their learning into action! ❤️🤍

Looking to support your child’s reading at home? Ask your teacher for specifics to work on!
Curling up with a good book that your child is able to read independently is always a good start! Listening to someone read aloud to them is another great option. Take your child to the public library and make it a family outing!

All students are gearing up for dot day in art! Kinder and 1st are working together to create their dot backgrounds!
2nd-5th are free creating dots using various materials from collaging, to dot markers, to stamping tools like q-tips and toilet paper rolls.

Dot Day is Tuesday! Have your child wear polka dots to school to “make their mark” on the world. We can’t wait to celebrate our uniqueness.

This week, Mrs. Pierce's 5th grade scientists learned about how temperature affects air particles and how air is made up of matter too small to be seen, like in a balloon 🎈.
To build background knowledge and make the lesson relevant, students investigated if air had mass by measuring inflated and deflated balloons.
Then they read about the world's largest Hot Air Balloon festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico and got to show their creative side by illustrating their own Hot Air Balloon diagrams.

There was reading, writing, peer collaboration, art, science and a ton of FUN!
