👵🏼👴🏼Happy Grandparents’ Day! / ¡Feliz Día de los Abuelos!

Today we celebrate the beautiful bond between grandparents and grandchildren. We honor those who are still by our side and those who are no longer with us, but whose love and memories will forever remain in our hearts. Their hugs, wisdom, stories, and unconditional love are treasures we carry with us for a lifetime.

Hoy celebramos el hermoso vínculo entre abuelos y nietos. Honramos a los que todavía están a nuestro lado y a los que ya no están con nosotros, pero cuyo amor y recuerdos vivirán para siempre en nuestros corazones. There’s a side of childcare that people don’t always talk about…

Today, two of my babies left for preschool. 🥹

And even though I’ve been through this before, it never really gets easier.

You watch them grow. You watch them learn, laugh, make friends, find their voice, and learn to manage those big little emotions. You celebrate their milestones and become part of their everyday lives.

Then one day, it’s time for them to move on.

I’m so happy for them. I’m proud of them. I know they’re ready for their next adventure… but that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.

And yes, I’m crying. 🥹

Being part of their first years of life is such a blessing. To be trusted with their little hearts, to watch them grow, and to be part of so many of their first memories is something I will never take for granted.

To the parents who have trusted me with your babies, thank you. Thank you for allowing me to be part of such an important season of their lives. Your trust means more to me than you know.

It’s never really goodbye…

☀️💦 Water Day 2026 💦☀️

A couple of weeks ago, we enjoyed one of our favorite summer traditions… Water Day! From the little ones to the big kids (including my own 🤭), the kiddos had an amazing time.

It was also a special opportunity to celebrate some of our little ones as they get ready to start a new school and begin an exciting new chapter.

One of the hardest parts of this job is when it’s time to watch them move on. I care for them as if they were my own children, and being part of their growth is always a blessing to me. 🥹

To all the parents, thank you for allowing me to be part of your children’s early years, their achievements, their smiles, and their adventures. Watching them grow has been a privilege.

To the children moving on to their next adventure, know that you will always have a special place in my heart and in the RodMar Childcare family. 🫶🏼

Sometimes the best learning moments are the ones we never planned.

Today started with books on the front porch while we listened to the rain. The children observed the weather, turned pages, asked questions, and enjoyed a peaceful moment together.

Then curiosity took over.
They wanted to feel the drizzle, catch raindrops, and experience the rain for themselves. With parent permission, we embraced the moment and followed their lead.

As educators, it’s important to remember that not every meaningful learning experience comes from a lesson plan. Sometimes the most valuable moments happen when we slow down, stay flexible, and allow children to explore the world around them.

🌈 Rainbow Color Matching Activity 🌈

Today, the children worked together on this rainbow color-matching activity, and they were so engaged that they spent almost an hour on it! 🎉

While it may look like a simple craft, activities like this help develop so many important skills:

✂️ Fine motor skills through tearing and placing the paper pieces.
🌈 Color recognition and matching.
👀 Visual discrimination as children identify the correct color and placement.
🧠 Focus, concentration, and problem-solving.
🤝 Cooperation, sharing, and taking turns.
💪 Hand-eye coordination and finger strength, which help prepare little hands for writing.

Most importantly, the children were learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences while having fun together.

Learning doesn’t always happen at a table with worksheets. Sometimes it happens on the floor, surrounded by colorful paper, laughter, and teamwork. ❤️

BEE WEEK 🍯🐝

Today our little learners became busy worker bees! We learned how bees collect nectar from flowers 🌺 and work together to make sweet honey inside the hive. 🐝🍯

Watching their curiosity, excitement, and little conversations during today’s lesson was such a joy.

We love creating meaningful learning experiences through play, exploration, creativity, and sensory activities. ✨

Our little bees had the sweetest day today! 🍯💛
