Ten Temple High School seniors are taking part in the Examined Life Scholars program at Baylor this week. In partnership with Baylor’s Honors College and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Examined Life Scholars program, funded by the Teagle Foundation’s Knowledge for Freedom Initiative, introduces local, first-generation college-bound high school students to the liberal arts and campus life.

Participants live on Baylor’s campus for two weeks, studying Plato and Aristotle alongside contemporary writers while exploring questions about education, purpose, and citizenship.

Faculty-led seminars and activities help students develop critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills that prepare them for college success.

We are pleased to announce that we have six local media members who have been named to the 2026 Media Honor Roll, a program sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB):

The Media Honor Roll recognizes media representatives statewide for fair and balanced reporting of news about public schools.

Criteria for the district selection included the media representative’s efforts to get to know the superintendent, board president, and the district’s mission and goals; report school news in a fair, accurate, and balanced manner; give a high profile to positive news about schools; visit the schools; and maintain a policy of no surprises by sharing information with school officials.

Students who attended Camp Invention last week had an amazing week filled with hands-on learning, creativity, and discovery. Throughout the week, they explored new ideas, solved challenges, and developed valuable skills while having fun.

We are very excited! The Temple High School Science addition and cafeteria renovations are looking amazing! These projects are part of the 2022 Bond.

Members of the Temple ISD Transportation Department and the Temple High School volleyball team recently volunteered at Love of Christ Food Pantry, helping serve 169 families in our community.
