Part 2: More Than Just Games 💫

Games with the President was more than simple fun: it was about connection, community, and campus life.

We introduced students to The Hub (S Building, top floor), a space for everyone to relax, play games, hang out with friends, and feel part of something bigger here at Dallas College. Whether you need a break between classes or a place to unwind, The Hub is yours.

Students also learned how and why to get involved on campus, discovering resources, opportunities, and ways to stay connected and engaged.

This event was about building community, and we’re just getting started. We’re excited to make this collaboration between the President’s Office and Alpha Delta Pi a lasting tradition at Brookhaven 💙

Stay connected. Stay involved. This is your campus!

Part 1: Games with the President 🎉

On April 20th, we brought the energy to Brookhaven with *Games with the President*—and over 70 students showed up in less than TWO hours 🤯

Students had the chance to meet and connect with our president, Dr. Burillo-Hopkins (aka Dr. B 💙), while playing pop-a-shot, air hockey, pool, ping pong, and foosball. In between the fun, Dr. B shared her story and journey, reminding us to stay true to ourselves and never give up.

From winning PTK-curated Dallas College merch bags (think tees, stationery, stress balls & more 🛍️) to enjoying tacos, popcorn, drinks, and Hispanic music, the vibes were unmatched. Even Dallas College staff joined in, making it a true community moment.

More to come… 👀

Looking back at our final morning in Baltimore! ✈️🌅

We said our goodbyes and headed back to Dallas after an unforgettable few days. This trip was packed with awards, laughs, and memories that we’re still buzzing about back on campus. So grateful for the experience! 🤠✨

The celebration didn’t stop at the gala! 🥂✨

We headed straight to the after-party for some well-deserved fun and desserts. 🍰 We even managed to grab a few photos with our brand-new International Officers! To wrap up an incredible experience, we had a huge photoshoot with our fellow Dallas College PTK chapters. 📸🎓

What an unforgettable trip—so much love for our PTK family! 💙🌍

One last time at the Baltimore Convention Center! 🏛️✨

We wrapped up our trip with a fancy dinner together before Beary grabbed a front-row seat for the Hallmark Awards Gala! 🧸

We spent the night cheering at the top of our lungs for our president, Lilian, as she accepted the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise award. So proud of this chapter and our leadership! 🏆

Catalyst Day 5: The Grand Finale 🦀✨

Looking back at an incredible end to the week! Keerthi and Faria took over to document the final stretch of our journey. Here is how we wrapped up the last day:

Finding Purpose: We started with General Session 4, where Sebastian Terry inspired us to pursue purpose-driven goals and live life with more intention.

Final Voices: We heard from the last round of IO candidates, so much passion and leadership on display!

A Taste of Baltimore: We had to do it. We headed to Crafty Crab for some of that famous Baltimore seafood. 🦀

Downtown Detours: After a “compulsory” ice cream stop, we took a long walk to soak in the downtown Baltimore views one last time.

Gala Glam: Then it was back to the hotel to swap the badges for formal wear as we got ready for the Catalyst Dinner and Gala.

What an unforgettable experience! Already missing the energy of this week, but the memories don’t end here. 🥂✨

Stay tuned—there’s more to come in the next parts!

More highlights from Day 4!

Had to pose in front of this ‘Visit Baltimore’ sign and also cheer on our Dean of Special Academic Programs when she was on stage receiving her award! 🏆

Day 4 at PTK Catalyst was a masterclass in resilience and community!

We kicked things off with more educational forums focused on mastering the transfer process and personal success. After a quick Jimmy John’s fuel-up, we headed into a powerful General Session with the incredible Amanda Nguyen.

Her story left us feeling “pathologically optimistic.” She reminded us that even when the mountain feels too high, you just need the strength for the “next pull of the rope.” 🪢

The evening was all about that PTK family energy:

🍿 National Game Night: Popcorn, pretzels, and iced tea while meeting chapters from across the country to compete in board games ♟️

🍬 Chapter Hangouts: Ended the night with our friends from Northlake and El Centro. Let’s just say a game of Bean Boozled is the fastest way to bond (or regret your life choices)!

So grateful for these moments of inspiration and the friendships that make this journey so special!
