Keep doing the work, even if at times you feel like you are spinning your wheels. Also, get some data. The last few weeks have been rough for a variety of reasons. And to be honest I just assumed I wasn’t losing weight…. Cause I just felt like I wasn’t. I was doing a majority of the things I knew to do. But I had a few missteps, I have been very much in my head, and I was feeling bloated… so… I assumed I wasn’t losing weight. But when I forced myself to weigh in today after avoid the scale for two weeks… I was down four more pounds.

Now I’m talking in particular about losing weight but this really can be applied to any area of our life. How often do we get in our head, focus on a few missteps, and forget that we have been doing a lot of work to move forward? I know I’m notorious for this. But it’s also a very human thing to do. We forget that doing the hard work, the repetitive, responsible, and times frustrating work is paying off when we don’t even realize it . We forget that God said He is faithful to complete the work that He began in us, and it’s not contingent on anything we can do or offer. We do need to keep the course though. We need to keep moving forward, even if we are limping. And we will make mistakes.

There is a lot of areas in my life I want to be better at. I want to be a better follower of God, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, business owner, teacher… and the list can go on. I want my people to know that I care deeply about them and that I’m trying to become the best person I can be for them. But I’m in process. And as long as I am still set making forward motion…I need to give myself some grace for the missteps. Because honestly, the people that really love you are already giving you that grace. We just often don’t believe that in our core.

So get the data, keep your eyes set forward, keep doing what you know to do, and don’t give up. It really is going to pay off.

What if silence isn’t emptiness…
but an invitation?

In Episode 26, we step into two of the most counter-cultural spiritual disciplines we rarely talk about — silence and Sabbath. Not as rules to follow or boxes to check, but as gifts God keeps offering in a world addicted to noise, hurry, and productivity.
Silence teaches us how to listen again — not just to God, but to our own hearts.
Sabbath reminds us that we are human beings, not human doings. That rest is not laziness, and stopping does not mean falling behind.

This episode is for anyone who feels spiritually exhausted, constantly distracted, or unsure how to slow down without feeling guilty. Formation doesn’t always happen in activity. Sometimes it happens in stillness.

I hesitated making this post cause my weight is a very private thing for me, and definitely not something I really talk about outside my core people. People are often mean and have no idea or consider all the medical stuff that is going on behind the scenes.

I’ve been intentionally making some changes since July and at times frustrated cause I’m not seeing faster progress. But as I was getting dressed today, I had this realization that I thought I’d share.

Change is never the way you envision it.
It never unfolds with a perfect little bow
or a neat 5 step plan or a straight path.

It’s a pair of pants that used to be skin tight, now being loose at the waist but still a little tight other places. It looks like slow and steady. It’s not glamorous, it’s not a fast, sexy movie montage. It looks like weight coming off weird places so you are constantly questioning if the work you are doing is working. But then you have moments like this morning where you realize your pants feel different, your watch or belt is needing to be a loop tighter, or you can do certain things you couldn’t do.

Lasting change isn’t fast.

It isn’t painless—
physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually.

It very much sucks
and is amazing all at the same time.

It is being misunderstood.
It often looks different than someone else.

It is continually just doing the work alone.
But also having trusted people who can speak into the process and maybe walk along side you in different seasons.

It will NEVER look the way you expect.

Have some grace for yourself in the process of change. Cry, wipe your tears, and then get back to the fight. Whether it’s weight loss, pursing God, or any other change. And encourage others as they are in process too.

But please….don’t stop. It’s worth it .

Prophecy didn’t whisper — it prepared the way.

Long before the manger, God spoke clearly about who Jesus would be:
not a distant ruler or conquering warrior,
but a present Savior.
A Wonderful Counselor for our confusion.
A Mighty God for our weakness.
An Everlasting Father for our longing.
A Prince of Peace for our restless hearts.

This is the kind of King who comes close — and stays.
Advent reminds us: He was promised, He arrived, and He remains with us to the very end.

12/15/2025

Advent reminds us that this story was never accidental. History didn’t stumble into redemption; it was led there with intention.

From the moment of His birth, the path was clear. A life lived in perfect obedience. A heart set on love. A sacrifice chosen long before the manger ever held Him. Grace didn’t arrive as a backup plan — it marched straight into our brokenness with purpose.

This is not just a Christmas story wrapped in lights and nostalgia.
It is a rescue story written in flesh and blood.
A story where hope steps into darkness, where life defeats death, and where love refuses to stay distant.

And the most beautiful part?
It didn’t end then.

That same grace is still moving toward us — meeting us in our questions, our weariness, our longing, and our becoming.

12/13/2025

Sometimes the most uncomfortable truth carries the deepest hope.

Advent reminds us that Jesus didn’t come because things were mostly fine — He came because we couldn’t fix what was broken, no matter how hard we tried. And instead of turning away, God stepped in. Fully. Lovingly. Personally.

What looks like bad news at first glance becomes the greatest gift we’ve ever been given: grace we couldn’t earn, love we didn’t deserve, and a Savior who chose nearness over distance.

That’s the kind of news worth sitting with.

12/11/2025

There’s something stunning about a Savior who walks straight toward the people who walked away from Him.
A King who trades judgement for mercy, and power for sacrificial love.

Advent reminds us that Jesus didn’t come to force transformation—He came to offer it.
To rewrite our stories with grace.
To rescue, restore, and reign… right in the places we feel most unworthy.

May Day 10 be a quiet reminder:
His love is not intimidated by your past, and His kingdom takes root in hearts willing to let Him in.

Let us adore Him. ✨
