🍎 Math is more fun when we can touch it, build it, roll it & solve it!

Our Pre-K learners at Kids ‘R’ Kids of West Temple have been busy putting their number skills to work during our Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 activities!

From building numbers in ten frames to rolling dice, matching quantities, counting manipulatives, and exploring numbers through sensory play, our students are learning that math is something they can see, touch, build, and understand. 🧮✨

These playful activities are helping strengthen number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, counting, subitizing, quantity recognition, fine-motor skills, problem-solving, and early mathematical thinking — all while they think they’re simply playing. 💙

At KRK, some of the BIGGEST learning happens through little hands. 🍎🌳

🍎 Math that looks like play… but builds BIG skills. ✨

In Pre-K, we’re not just memorizing numbers—we’re learning what numbers actually mean! 🧠

Today our little learners chose a number, identified it, and then used their ten-frame mats to build the matching quantity. Along the way, they’re practicing counting, one-to-one correspondence, number recognition, subitizing, fine-motor skills, and problem solving—all through hands-on play. 🍎🔢

Because kindergarten readiness doesn’t have to mean worksheets all day. At Kids ‘R’ Kids, we believe some of the BEST learning happens when children are moving, touching, exploring, and having FUN. 💙

🌴 CHICKA CHICKA… can our tree hold the whole alphabet?! 🔤👀

This week, our Pre-K kiddos are bringing one of our favorite stories to life with a hands-on Chicka Chicka Boom Boom STEM challenge! 🌴✨

First, they build their very own Chicka Chicka tree using simple materials. Then comes the challenge: How many letters can you balance before they all come tumbling down? 😆

It may look like play, but there’s SO much learning happening along the way! Our little engineers are practicing problem-solving, fine motor skills, letter recognition, counting, creativity, and a whole lot of trial + error. 🧠🙌
