WEATHER UPDATE: Monday, February 23 will be a Virtual Learning day for PGCPS (Code Brown). Schools are closed for in-person instruction and all schools will move to virtual teaching and learning.
Synchronous virtual instruction will start on a 2-hour delayed schedule.
All offices are closed for in-person work; all offices will operate virtually.
Emergency personnel only should report to work with a two-hour delay.
There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.

WEATHER UPDATE โ Schools and offices will remain closed Tuesday, Jan. 27 - Thursday, January 29. Code Yellow: Only emergency personnel should report to work.
The emergency code will be communicated daily.
Use of all facilities is cancelled.
The status for Friday will be determined on Thursday.
The decision to close schools is always made with safety as our top priority. PGCPS is committed to timely communication, and will provide daily updates to staff and families no later than 5 p.m. throughout the weather event.

The school district will implement food services Wednesday, Jan. 28 at five school centers: Drew-Freeman High School, Fairmont Heights High School, Greenbelt High School, Laurel High School and Surrattsville High School. Details will be included in tomorrow's update.

Prince Georgeโs County has activated Emergency Warming Centers to protect residents during extreme cold, staffed daily from 8:00 AMโ6:00 PM, with overnight shelter available at select locations. Residents in need of overnight shelter should call the 24/7 Shelter Hotline at 1-888-731-0999. In District 9, the designated warming center is the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 7979 Malcolm Road, Clinton, MD 20735, with overnight availability, providing a safe and warm option for South County residents. Additional warming centers are open across North and Central County. Please share this information and check on neighbors, seniors, and those most vulnerable during the storm.
