Africa 🌍 On Stage Like You Have Never Seen It Before ✊🏾
As we all are navigating the impact of the virus, the one lesson I have learned is that we have to keep living. While we might not be able to do all of the things we used to do right now, we can still prepare for the time when we can.
My most recent trips to Tanzania 🇹🇿, Ghana 🇬🇭 and Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 in December inspired me to keep pushing even more. Seeing the world from the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro has given me a perspective I never knew I could have. Seeing the resourcefulness of the people of the Ganvie community in Benin 🇧🇯 taught me that anything is possible. Experiencing a dinner show in Addis Ababa 🇪🇹 showed me a side of entertainment that you can only get in Ethiopia. My time in Salvador in Brazil 🇧🇷 showed me the true global influence of African culture.
The virus 🦠 is proving that anything can change in an instant. It has inspired me to make the most of each day.
With that said, I am excited to bring many of my experiences in Africa and Salvador in Brazil to the stage. This live production will highlight aspects of the cultures I was able to experience. While many of us will automatically form an image in our minds about “Africa” , rest assured what I am going to present will feature many unexpected, pleasant surprises. Best of all, it will highlight our youth and young adults as we bridge the gap between Africa and the African diaspora.

Many parents are facing a dilemma this summer with what to do with their pre-teen and teen.
What can they do that’s different but safe?
What can they do that still stimulates their mind and creativity in this new normal this summer? Life Camp has the answer!
This summer we will be offering one of the most dynamic virtual summer experiences in the WORLD!

* What makes me so confident?
The simple fact that I have seen the results over the past twelve years in our in-person call and we now have access to even more talented instructors with a variety of backgrounds and skillsets. Even when we return to an in-person model, we will still incorporate virtual elements so that the program can provide the very best experience for our participants.
Families can select from one to ten courses of interest over the summer. Space is extremely limited and each participant must interviewed and accepted into the program. Certain session sizes will be smaller to allow for more personalized instruction.

Why Life Camp Is So Much More Than Summer Daycare! Don’t Miss The FREE Online Orientation This Saturday at 10am
Message from Director Jay Cameron
In 2008, I had this bold idea to create a unique summer camp that fused performing arts, life skills and financial literacy into a summer experience. Little did I realize what Life Camp was going to become. After serving nearly 1500 campers over eleven summers, I am excited to see so many Life Campers as successful teens and adults.
Everything I have done over the past twenty five years has been about empowering people. From
stage productions, seminars, bootcamps, my travel adventures, online courses, books and a whole host of other activities, Life Camp is just another example of the empowerment message.
In 2019, I decided to take the summer off and travel domestically and internationally. What I experienced changed my life and reaffirmed the need to have a summer camp experience like Life Camp. I was inspired to add even more to Life Camp and to build in post-camp experiences for campers and parents. What I realized is that Life Camp is much BIGGER than summer day camp. It offers campers and their families the opportunity to connect with my other empowerment activities like Urban Change and the Maximum Impact Success and Travel communities. It exposes them to activities and opportunities most children don’t have access to.
The biggest advantage of being a Life Camper moving forward is having access to my network of people and resources committed to their success. That is priceless! Additionally, I will know each camper personally and look to establish a relationship with the parent(s)/guardian(s). This is a team effort vs a “drop off - fix my child” effort.
Who Is This Camp For?
This camp has been designed for campers and families that are ready to go to the next level in one or more of areas that we emphasize. All they need is the environment to get there. My hope is to bring out the very best in our children across the board.
What’s new!
1. In 2020, all campers and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be interviewed and accepted into the camp. The interview will give everyone the opportunity to see if Life Camp is a good fit. Because I will be working with each camper in some capacity over the summer, I want to make sure we have a team game plan in place and that the camper wants to be a part or the Life Camp community.
2. We have an early bird deadline so that we can know who to expect this summer and begin to prepare accordingly.
3. The YouTube Camp (video and audio editing, content creation and YouTube channel development)
4. The African Immersion Curriculum
5. We will have our first ever digital yearbook!
6. There are a host of FREE resources for parents and much more.
