AP Calculus AB Prep $275
Preparation Course 3 week course
Many of the mistakes or struggles students have in AP Calculus stem from skills that have been covered in previous courses. The AP Calculus AB Prep course covers topics from Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry that are essential for students who hope to be successful in the yearlong AP Calculus AB class at Temple City High School. It also gives an introduction to entry level calculus skills. Sample of topics covered: manipulating algebraic expressions, algebraic functions and vocabulary, analytical geometry, area and volume of complex shapes, basic trigonometric functions, the unit circle, a brief introduction of basic limits, and more

AP English Language & Composition $550
Preparation Course 6 week course
This summer preparation course is designed to prepare students for the content and curriculum included in the AP Language & Composition course. The summer course overviews the requisite skills (Umbrella Skills) needed to excel in AP Lang and acts as a primer for the subsequent school year and embedded exam in the spring. Students taking the course will get a preview of College Board material including essay prompts, rubrics and sample essays that will be reviewed during the school year.

AP World History: Modern Prep $275
Preparation Course 3 week course
The AP World History: Modern preparation class is offered as an enrichment opportunity. Its purpose is to prepare students planning to take AP World History: Modern for the coming school year. Topics will include: Qualities of an AP student; Reading, Writing, Critical Thinking, and Communication Skills; General Themes and Considerations of AP World History: Modern, with an emphasis on the types of essays students will write for the AP Exam in May. Though this class is not required for enrollment in AP World History: Modern, it will provide students with skills and information to help prepare them for success during the regular school year. The course will be led by Mr. Michael Shore, teacher pf AP World History: Modern at Temple City High School.

SAT Reading and Writing Prep Class $550
Preparation Course 6week course
SAT Prep is designed to help prepare students for the reading and writing portion of the SAT test. In addition to reviewing the basic verbal skills assessed on the SAT test, students learn test-taking strategies specific to the exam. Emphasis will be placed on the reading and writing portion of the exam. Material includes samples with explanations, grading rubrics for peer and self-assessment, practice tests with complete multiple-choice assessments, essay prompts, and study resources. Independent practice is followed by guided collaborative review. Upon successful completion, students will possess the tools necessary to complete the SAT to the best of their ability.

Algebra 1 Prep/Review Class $550

Preparation/Review Course 6 week course

In this course, students are expected to apply mathematics in meaningful ways to solve problems that arise in the workplace, society, and everyday life through the process of modeling. Mathematical modeling involves creating appropriate equations, graphs, functions, or other mathematical representations to analyze real-world situations and answer questions.
This course provides a comprehensive teaching of the fundamental aspects of problem solving. Major topics of study include evaluation of algebraic equations, exponent rules and manipulation, polynomials, solving and graphing linear equations, solving and graphing two variable inequalities, solving systems of equations, radicals, word problems, solving and graphing quadratic equations, and factoring.

Algebra 2 Prep $550
Preparation Course 6 week course

Students will confidently enter Algebra 2 in August with a strong foundation prepared for success. Practice foundational/critical skills needed for Algebra 2 success. Practice a variety of on-line formats that will prepare students for use during the school year. Know not only how but Why a math process works. Mastery of these concepts will make Algebra 2 a breeze, enabling students to focus on new Algebra 2 concepts rather than elementary foundation concepts.
Units of Instruction
Positive & Negative numbers, Factors and Multiples, Proportion Cross Products, Unit Analysis-Converting Units, Writing Algebraic Expressions from words, Binomial Products, Linear Equations, Transformations, Habits, Methods and Tips for Success
This is a non credit course

PreCalculus Prep $275
Preparation Course 3 week course

Students would be more successful in PreCalculus if they can avoid the mistakes and struggles that stem from skills covered in previous courses. PreCalculus Prep covers topics from Algebra 2 and Geometry that are essential to students who aim to be successful in PreCalculus, a yearlong demanding course at Temple City High School. It also covers an introduction to entry level precalculus skills. Topics covered include: Partial Fraction Decomposition, Rational Fractions, Factoring, Algebraic and Logarithmic expressions, Polynomial Functions, Rational Zeros Test, Guassian Elimination, Solving Systems of Linear Equations, basic Trigonometry Identities, a brief introduction to Trigonometry, and more.
