We provide scholarships, training support, and outreach programs that help aspiring female pilots begin and advance their aviation careers. The Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation was established in 2023 to honor the life and legacy of aviatrix Debbie Franceus — a woman whose passion for flying inspired everyone around her. Debbie believed that women of all ages and backgrounds should hav
e the opportunity to pursue aviation. Today, the foundation carries her vision forward by helping aspiring female pilots begin and advance their aviation careers. Our mission is to reduce gender disparity in aviation by providing scholarships, mentorship, and training support for women across the United States. We assist students working toward their Private Pilot License (PPL), instrument rating, commercial certification, and other FAA milestones. Since our founding, more than 30 women have received direct financial assistance through our programs, with over 90% of donated funds going straight to recipients. Many of these awardees represent underrepresented groups — including women of color, older adult learners, and first-generation aviators — who often face significant financial barriers in entering aviation. We partner with flight schools and aviation organizations nationwide, expanding access to training and building pathways toward professional aviation careers. Our outreach includes virtual panels, educational sessions, and community programs such as the Aviation Spirit Award, recognizing individuals who uplift and support the aviation community. The foundation maintains the highest standards of transparency and stewardship, holding Platinum status with Candid/GuideStar and a 4-Star/98% rating from Charity Navigator. This ensures donors and supporters can trust that their contributions directly empower women in aviation. By supporting aspiring female pilots, the Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation continues Debbie’s mission — helping more women take to the skies and shaping a stronger, more diverse future for aviation.
