Bedford Public Schools Bedford Public School District is proud to offer a high quality education to the residents of Bedford Township.

Bedford Public Schools continues a tradition of educational excellence in early childhood education with an award winning GSRP program; our three elementary schools: Douglas Road Elementary, Jackman Road Elementary, and Monroe Road Elementary; Bedford Junior High School; and Bedford High School along with our Bedford Virtual Academy; and continuing beyond with our Adult Education programs. The district has an enrollment of nearly 4,000 students that routinely exceed state averages in assessments such as the M-STEP, MME and SAT thanks to the efforts of our dedicated staff, the hard work of our students, and the support of parents and our community.

A week from today!
UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour® is the nation’s number-one ranked drunk and distracted driving awareness event, as well as the first-and-only ma*****na driving simulator in the country. The Arrive Alive Tour uses a high-tech, state-of-the-art simulator that allows participants to drive while distracted, drunk, or drugged in a fully functioning vehicle without moving or being impaired. The simulator lets participants experience real-life dangers without the real-life consequences. UNITE's Arrive Alive Tour is sponsored by the Jessica Thompson Agency of Michigan Farm Bureau in partnership with the Michigan Office of Highway Safety and Planning to bring this life-changing event to Bedford High School. The mission is to change these dangerous driving behaviors and save lives. UNITE's Arrive Alive Tour, the Michigan Office of Highway Safety and Planning, and Farm Bureau Insurance have partnered to launch the Arrive Alive Safe Driving Campaign throughout the state of Michigan. The goal is to educate teens on the dangers of distracted, drunk, and drugged driving to help keep the roads of Michigan safe.

We have a very special event coming to our cafeterias on October 15th. It is Apple Crunch Day. Apple Crunch Day is a national annual event held in October. It encourages schools, communities, and individuals to crunch a locally grown apple at the same time. It also celebrates healthy eating habits, supports our farmers, and raises awareness about the benefits of locally grown agriculture. Each school has selected its own ways to celebrate during lunch service. High school & junior high have chosen to play a find-the-apple and win-a-prize game. Douglas Road Elementary has chosen to do a Lucky Tray Day. Monroe Road and Jackman Road have chosen to hand out stickers and coloring sheets. In addition to the special events at each school, we will be holding a taste-testing event at the high school during lunch service.

We love a student who isn’t afraid to get a little dirty! Under the direction of instructor Steven Lewandowski, advanced auto student Jayden M spent the afternoon showing beginning students the process of removing and pressing in new wheel bearings. This was for a vehicle with ABS and the process was very specific. These are advanced skills being taught to our Mules, and is another example of our wonderful Career Technical Education courses we offer at Bedford High School.

A week from tomorrow, we gather for a cause. Join us on Tuesday, October 13th, as the Bedford Volleyball program presents "Volley for the Cure." Matches start at 5:30, with silent auctions, themed basket raffles, and a bake sale. All activities benefit the fight against cancer, and we hope to see you there!

Take a seat. 8th-grade Bedford Junior High students celebrated Manufacturing Day with a tour of MTS Seating. Organized by MTS and the Monroe County ISD, this nationwide event gives students a chance to explore careers in trades and manufacturing. Our High School has a tremendous Career Technical Education program, which these students might now be interested in after spending some time at MTS. Make it a great day, Mule Nation!

Bedford High School’s Student Prevention Leadership Team spent the day at Monroe’s Holiday Camp for an event led by the Monroe County ISD and Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan. Our student leaders joined peers from other Monroe County schools to share ideas and explore ways to engage their schools and communities in preventing substance abuse. We are beyond proud of these students for taking the lead and making a difference! Mule Pride shining through and through!
