Who’s ready for a little fall family adventure?

Head outside this weekend and see how many signs of fall your family can find!

Look for colorful leaves, acorns, pinecones, pumpkins, squirrels, sticks, something orange, something crunchy, and anything else that makes you think of autumn.

Turn it into a scavenger hunt, let your child lead the way, and talk about what you notice together. These simple family experiences encourage curiosity, conversation, observation, and connection.

Core Values Spotlight: TRUST

Trust is at the heart of the relationships we build at Bedford Child Development Center.

Families trust us with what matters most — their children. We honor that trust through consistency, communication, safety, honesty, and the relationships our teachers build with each child and family.

Children also need to know that the adults around them will listen, comfort them, guide them, and be there when they need support. Those everyday moments help create the security children need to confidently explore, learn, and grow.

Trust isn’t built in one big moment. It is built through the little things we do every single day. 💙

It may look like children are simply scooping, pouring, squishing, mixing, or digging — but sensory play is packed with learning!

When children explore different textures, sounds, colors, and materials, they are developing important skills throughout the experience.

Sensory play can help children strengthen fine motor skills, build vocabulary, practice problem-solving, develop creativity, and explore cause and effect. It also gives children opportunities to make choices and learn through hands-on discovery.

At BCDC, we believe some of the best learning happens when children can touch it, explore it, and experience it for themselves. 💙

Parent Tip of the Week

Fall weather can be tricky — chilly in the morning, warm in the afternoon, and everything in between!

Dressing your child in easy-to-remove layers can help keep them comfortable throughout the day. A light sweatshirt or jacket over a short-sleeve shirt makes it easier to adjust as temperatures change.

And don’t forget to label jackets, sweaters, hats, and other belongings with your child’s name. 💙

Comfortable children are ready to play, explore, and learn!
