We’re suing over the president’s latest illegal executive order attempting to limit access to mail-in voting. We defeated the last anti-voter executive order in court, and we will defeat this one, too. The Constitution is clear: The president does not have authority over our elections.
The executive order attempts to create a national voter registry using faulty data, exert unlawful control over the U.S. Postal Service, and dictate who can vote by mail and how. These actions could prevent millions of Americans from using the mail to cast their ballots. The president doesn’t have the authority to do any of this. Only the states and Congress have the power to regulate elections, not the president.
Despite that, the president’s latest executive order is another unlawful attempt to limit access to mail-in voting, even though voting by mail is a safe, secure and accessible way relied on by millions of Americans — including the president himself — to cast their ballots.
Campaign Legal Center is suing alongside Democracy Defenders Fund on behalf of LULAC, Secure Families Initiative and Arizona Students’ Association.

🚨 BIG WIN FOR STUDENT SAFETY 🚨
The Tempe City Council unanimously passed the Drink Spiking Prevention Ordinance in a 7–0 vote. This is a major victory for students and a powerful step toward making Tempe’s nightlife safer for everyone.
ASA’s Co-Executive Director Jessica Mendoza testified on behalf of students and helped push this ordinance across the finish line.
Thank you to Council Member Keaton, Mayor Woods, and every member of Council for standing with students and prioritizing safety.
And thank you to Nightcap for donating drink covers to participating bars and Knope for supplying test kits to make implementation possible.

Action Alert!!
Minneapolis showed us the path.
When ICE invaded, the people shut the city down. ✊
That’s the power of a general strike.
That’s the power of organized communities.
On January 30, our city will answer the call.
We are walking out. We are shutting it down.
From Minneapolis to everywhere—this is how we fight back.

Today, and always, we honor the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
MLK believed education was a pathway to freedom, not a privilege for the few. He challenged us to think critically, act courageously, and use our voices to confront injustice.
ASA honors Dr. King’s legacy by organizing students to protect access to education for all, strengthen our democracy through participation from all, and build a future rooted in equity and dignity.

Sarina had an amazing time in Florida for the Student Organizing Bootcamp!! Here are some words from our student organizer about the weekend:
"This was an absolutely amazing experience. From the organizations to the people to the trainings, I can truly say I am walking away with not just knowledge but a renewed sense of belonging in this work and the tools to further my projects. I can’t wait to bring it all back to ASA!
We learned how to shape issues and create a base to support us. I improved on creating a stronger public narrative and connecting with a wide range of people. I also gained new connections and found an amazing community of people doing work similar to my own. It reminded me that we are not alone in this work. There are so many who care and want there to be a better world for us all.
Thank you to all who made it possible including the Sunrise Movement, the Emergency Campaign for Higher Education, and USSA (). I can’t wait to continue my work, continue to help grow the skills of my peers, and to attend the next training!!!"

You get a call about erasing student loan debt. Is it a scam?
The message comes from an entity like the "Student Loan Relief Center." A voice says you “now qualify” for forgiveness of your student loan debt.

The Arizona Students’ Association is in support of . Not one official, regardless of political affiliation, should be targeted and shot at by an organization that serves as an arm of the administration and an agenda that promotes hate over hope, fear over family, and cruelty over community.
