We had the privilege of learning how to make Acqua di San Giovanni.
Rooted in a pagan tradition later embraced by Christianity, this magical potion is prepared using medicinal herbs and flowers soaked in water overnight—during a time when nature is believed to be especially powerful and charged with energy and beneficial humors.
Infused with the power of the moon, stars, and morning dew, all of nature’s divine energy is transferred to the water, which is then used to bathe and cleanse the body (and soul).
