Blast from the past. N.T. Wright speaking at the College of Law at Arizona State University in 2014. Thanks to Tom Parker and Fuller Seminary for bringing him to our city, we were able to host the event at ASU through the Arizona Center for Christian Studies.
In fact, we have hosted numerous major events on campus over the years, including the Christian COFAS - Conference on Faith and Science (2019, 2021, and 2022) and the multi-faith Conference on Religion, Ethics, and Science - CORES (2021 and 2022). Those programs were both wonderful and challenging.
We have since moved to a less public and more grassroots strategy of academic ministry at ASU. More to share about the Center in later posts, so stay tuned!

Since 2016, we have hosted the student chapter of the American Scientific Affiliation () at the Campus Christian Center (). This gathering of students and faculty in science and engineering at Arizona State University (ASA at ASU) is the only one at a public university as others are located at Christian colleges and universities.
We have outstanding student leadership with Evelyn Dellaripa as president. She is supported by Dr. Rob Putty Putman, our resident “Pastor to Scientists,” who has 10 years of pastoral experience preceded by 10 years of education and research in Physics. We are delighted to welcome Christians in STEM at ASU!
Besides hosting three COFAS - Conference on Faith and Science at Arizona State University in 2019 (in person), 2021 (online), and 2022 (hybrid), the Arizona Center for Christian Studies partnered with several academic centers at ASU to host two Conferences on Religion, Ethics, and Science (CORES) in 2021 and 2022. In addition, we were able to host other events such as an online conversation with the late Rabbi Jonathan Sacks. (May his memory be a blessing. See The Rabbi Sacks Legacy.) These conferences and events were made possible by the support of the John Templeton Foundation. We are grateful!

Congratulations to Prof. Jonathan Pettigrew in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at ASU on the publication of “Growing Tall While Going Low: The Humble Pursuit of Spiritual Maturity.” We have had the privilege of collaborating with him for the COFAS - Conference on Faith and Science and other projects. We look forward to future work together.
Associate Professor Jonathan Pettigrew has coauthored a newly released book, Growing Tall While Going Low: The Humble Pursuit of Spiritual Maturity.
The book reflects his ongoing engagement with questions at the intersection of faith, scholarship, and public life. We are proud to see our faculty contributing to thoughtful conversations beyond the classroom.
Congratulations to Professor Pettigrew on this accomplishment!
