🔥Introducing HeatReady, a program from the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory that enables cities, neighborhoods and schools to identify, prepare for, mitigate, track and respond to the negative impacts of extreme .

The initiative emphasizes community-specific strategies, harnessing the expertise of a network that spans heat, health and local knowledge, integrating diverse experiences. Originally started by the City of Phoenix, the HeatReady program has expanded to neighborhoods and 35+ schools across the Valley. 🐦‍🔥

🌲Jad Daley, CEO of American Forests engages in tree-planting collaboration with Brian Winsor at Paideia Academies and 2021 ASU Knowledge Exchange for Resilience Community Fellow, contributing to the planting of nearly 50 trees in partnership with the City of Phoenix.

Dr. Carstensen is an assistant professor of psychology in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.
🌟 She leads a research project focused on exploring the impact of language and culture on children's perception of space and relationships. 🤝

When the small East Valley town of Guadalupe was struck hard by the pandemic, joined public health entities to implement ways to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The Guadalupe COVID-19 Community Response Team, formed in June 2020, brought together ASU faculty, staff, students and partners to lessen the impact of COVID-19 in Guadalupe. Through the team’s time working in the community, rates of new cases in Guadalupe declined from 5.5 times higher than the average to being in line with the rest of the county. 🦠💉

Bridging Success is a unique program designed to assist foster youth and their support teams throughout the admission process and their entire college experience at . From enrollment to graduation, dedicated staff are committed to providing the guidance and support needed for a successful academic journey. 🎒

The Watts College of Public Service program saw a 47% increase in admissions of foster care alumni to and a 31% hike in enrollment. Additionally, 53% of students in the program completed their undergraduate degree, soaring double-digits above the 31% national average. ✅

CarePRO Partnership, a group-based skill-building intervention for family caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. This program empowers family caregivers by providing essential skills for managing stress and behaviors in Alzheimer’s patients. Over 800 caregivers in Arizona and Nevada have benefited, reporting significant improvements in and coping strategies. 🩺

🚨Arizona is facing a counselor shortage in K-12 schools. With a ratio of 716-to-1, it's clear that students need more support.

The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, in collaboration with Mesa Public Schools, has launched a new master’s degree concentration focused on training students to become K–12 counselors. This initiative is a response to the critical shortage of counselors in Arizona schools. 📚🏫

Ayşe Çiftçi, the director of the School of Counseling and Counseling Psychology, emphasized the importance of early mental health intervention in K–12 systems. By addressing issues like bullying and drug addiction early on, counselors can have a direct impact on students, families and . 🌟🎓
