Human anatomy and physiology | Health & Medicine | Khan Academy 06/02/2026

Khan Academy Medicine: While they have undergraduate modules, their dedicated MCAT and health professions sections cover advanced human physiology and biochemistry at a rigorous pace.

Khan Academy is widely regarded as one of the best free educational platforms globally. It shines for its structured, step-by-step math and science courses, self-paced learning dashboard, and test prep. However, it lacks advanced, in-depth conceptual instruction and offers no formal, accredited certificates.

If you want to build core academic foundations, review math, or study for a standardized test without spending a dime, Khan Academy is nearly unbeatable. For career-ready professional certifications, deep university-level courses, or niche skills (like graphic design), you are better off using paid alternatives or platforms like Coursera or Udemy.

Günther Enderlein - Wikipedia 05/27/2026

In Bacteria Cyclogeny (1925), German microbiologist Professor Dr. Günther Enderlein proposed the theory of "pleomorphism". He argued that microbes are not fixed, isolated species, but rather share a single, continuous life cycle that shifts forms based on the internal environment or "terrain" of the host organism.

Key Concepts from the Book

The Endobiont & Protits: Enderlein claimed that all living things contain primitive, sub-microscopic protein particles called Protits (later termed the Endobiont). These entities exist symbiotically in healthy blood, but can cycle through different forms.

The Cycle of Development (Cyclogeny): He outlined a developmental progression that starts as invisible Protits, evolves into harmless bacteria, and can eventually escalate into pathogenic bacteria and disease-causing fungi.

The "Terrain" Dictates Health: Enderlein argued that the shift from a harmless, symbiotic Protist to a dangerous, pathogenic state is triggered by a compromised or acidic internal environment.

Dark-Field Microscopy: To support his theories, Enderlein heavily utilized dark-field live-blood analysis to visually track these evolving microbial shapes over time.

Legacy & Context

While Enderlein's work forms the foundational philosophy for several biological and naturopathic medicine traditions today (such as the use of Isopathic/Sanum remedies), his views on cyclogeny sharply contradict mainstream microbiology. Modern science follows a "monomorphistic" view of microbes, concluding that bacteria and fungi do not morph into completely different classes of organisms within the human body.

Günther Enderlein - Wikipedia Günther Enderlein (7 July 1872 – 11 August 1968) was a German zoologist, entomologist, microbiologist, researcher, physician for 60 years, and later a manufacturer of pharmaceutical products. Enderlein received international renown for his insect research, and in Germany became famous due to his ...
