I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! As we approach the end of the semester and start a new year/semester there will be some board member openings! If you are interested, please email me at [email protected] with your name and position you want to run for no later then Friday 12/03/21. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out! :) Gen-Ed students can run as well to be a board member!!

We would like ALL!!! Members to submit their point sheets for this semester. Remember when you Join SNAAZC new members automatically receive 10points.

This is crucial. We need to see who is still a member since the board is creating documents for tracking and award purposes.

The election will be held online August 30th – September 3rd
A quiz will populate on canvas for voting for new board members at 11:59 pm on August 29th Please submit the quiz by September 2 at 11:59 pm if you would like to vote. The new board members will be announced by Monday, September 6.

Food Drive Results!!!!

I just wanted to reach out to all of those who donated to the food drive and say thank you all!!! There were over 200 items donated and the total weight was 170 pounds! What a wonderful turnout!!! Again, thank you all for your donations. The food bank was very happy, and they are excited for our next one!
Good luck during finals week!!! You guys got this!

Canned Food Drive

The Student Nurses Association at Arizona College will be partnering with Feeding America and St. Mary’s Food Bank to host a food drive from 08/02 – 08/16. There will be a decorated box on the 4th floor of the main campus to drop off your donations. 5 items will earn you 2.5 points. 10 items will earn you 5 points. There will be a 10 point cap per week.

Here is a list of some of the most needed items in no specific order.
peanut butter, canned fruit, canned soup, canned proteins, canned vegetables, rice and beans, cereal, and pasta

Millions of children and families living in America face hunger and food insecurity every day.

Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 42 million people may experience food insecurity, including a potential 13 million children.

The pandemic has most impacted families that were already facing hunger or one paycheck away from facing hunger.

According to the USDA's latest Household Food Insecurity in the United States report, more than 35 million people in the United States experienced hunger in 2019.

Let's finish off the semester strong!!! You guys rock!
