Every semester, we partner with Arizona State University’s Barrett Global Resolve program to prepare students for real-world international impact. Using our Culturally Intelligent (CI) leadership framework and Cultural Values Inventory, we equip future changemakers to navigate complex projects across Mexico, St. Lucia, Barbados, and beyond.
The result? Students who don’t just work internationally—they work *interculturally*—with the insight and adaptability to create meaningful change across borders.
Pictured here: During our fourth and final session, students gather in a Barrett lounge to eat together and address conflicts that have arisen within their specific projects using CI strategies centered on , and . This group focused on both internal and external stakeholders, highlighting the importance of incorporating multiple perspectives into decision-making processes.
Seven years. Hundreds of students. Countless projects launched with CI at their core.
Is your institution preparing students for global leadership?
We’d love to bring our framework to your classroom as guest lecturers or curriculum partners.
Let’s talk about building the next generation of culturally intelligent leaders.

We were grateful to return to the DC area for another session with a longtime client.
There’s something special about walking into a room where trust has already been developed—where the work deepens with each engagement.
This week, we explored the Culturally Intelligent Predictive Index, helping professionals understand not just their working styles, but how to bridge differences and communicate more effectively across their diverse team. Next week, we’ll do a similar facilitation for remote staff.
These moments remind us why this work matters: watching lightbulbs go off, seeing people recognize themselves and each other in new ways, and building the foundation for stronger collaboration.
We’re thankful for clients who invest in their people and for the opportunity to facilitate meaningful growth.

We live in a society in which public figures shame people who express empathy, or the ability to listen to another’s experience. Without empathy, compassion—empathy in action by responding to a known need—cannot exist.
At CITC, we teach empathy and compassion as leadership skills because we believe that without them, organizations suffer. How much more do we need these skills to support humanity in general?
We have hope that more people will recognize the value of every human life and learn how to empathize and compassionately act. It’s possible. We’re here to help make it happen.
Thank you, , for your clarity and shared mission to call humanity back to ourselves.

A Culturally Intelligent Reminder:
If we judge Islam by ISIS, then consistency demands we judge Christianity by Trump or the Crusades. Most people instinctively reject the latter—and they’re right. That’s exactly the point.
We apply different standards to different faiths, often from the same people saying “don’t judge my religion by extremists” while judging others by theirs.
Fair evaluation means judging each faith by its mainstream teachings and best representatives—not its worst actors. When we consistently apply this standard across ALL religions, we escape our own logical trap.

🕊️ **“Nobody’s free until everybody’s free.”** — Fannie Lou Hamer
Today we commemorate Juneteenth, marking the moment when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865. But Fannie Lou Hamer’s powerful words remind us that freedom isn’t just about a single moment in history—it’s an ongoing commitment to justice for all.
Hamer, a fearless civil rights activist and voting rights champion, understood that liberation is interconnected. Her life’s work showed us that true freedom means fighting not just for ourselves, but for every person whose dignity is denied, whose voice is silenced, whose humanity is questioned.
As we celebrate the joy and resilience of Black communities today, let’s also recommit to the unfinished work of freedom. Let’s honor the ancestors who paved the way and the activists who continue the struggle. Let’s build a world where Hamer’s vision becomes reality—where everyone can live with full dignity, opportunity, and justice.
Freedom is not a destination, but a practice. Today and every day, let’s practice it together.

Have you ever noticed how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors sometimes feel disconnected? Our Culturally Intelligent (CI) Enneagram approach teaches us that these three elements are deeply intertwined.
Swipe to explore how understanding these triads can transform your self-awareness and help you break free from limiting patterns.
Slide 2
Personal integration begins with the heart center through cultivating curiosity about our emotions. The Enneagram Heart types (2, 3, 4) teach us valuable lessons about emotional awareness and identity.
CI techniques remind us that curiosity—not judgment—toward our feelings creates space for growth. Heart center reflection | “What might I discover if I approach my emotions with genuine wonder?”
Slide 3
The head center’s role in personal integration requires developing empathy—toward ourselves first. Enneagram Head types (5, 6, 7) demonstrate different thinking patterns that influence how we process experiences.
CI principles show us that empathetic understanding of our thought patterns reduces their power over us. Head center practice | “How would I respond to these thoughts if they belonged to someone I deeply care about?”
Slide 4
True integration happens when compassionate action transforms our behaviors. The Enneagram Body types (8, 9, 1) reveal different approaches to engaging with our physical experiences and instincts.
CI approaches remind us that small behavioral shifts create lasting change. Body center challenge | “What one compassionate action would help align my behaviors with my authentic values today?”
Slide 5

Yesterday, we spent the day with executive leaders in the southern part Colorado to address three top employee priorities that emerged from a company-wide culture survey CITC authored and analyzed.
✨We began the day looking at Cultural Value Expressions and practicing ways to foster collaborative communication and engagement, centered in trust, by investigating real-life mishaps that had occurred.
✨The afternoon was full of activities rooted in building Culturally Intelligent leadership, specifically deepening the skills of , , and .
✨The leaders then applied those skills toward the survey priority areas to see what action-steps forward they will commit to taking to demonstrate to employees that, not only are they listening to feedback, but they are directly addressing it.
💫This is how leaders build trust.
🔭How might your organization become more Culturally Intelligent?

Here’s another Guide to Culturally Intelligent Conversations:
During hard conversations, do you specify problematic behaviors instead of insulting the person who hurt you? If so, you’re being Culturally Intelligent.
What have you learned from avoiding personal attack (a form of gaslighting) and, instead, specifying behaviors?

“Be nobody’s darling,” says Alice Walker. Instead, “Be an outcast.”
If we stand on our integrity, we’ll never live with regret.
May we uphold the values of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this weekend and every day after.
