May 21, 2019 marks a special day for a 5th Grade Murrieta Student, Madison Boyd, when she received a gift from Tower Bridge International Education.

The story starts in March 2019, during National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and March 25, National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. This event earmarks the most common disability in children impacting over 800,000 Americans and 17,000,000 people world wide. The United States Congress has given us a platform to voice its importance as a public health issue and allows medical institutions, media, lawmakers and us, the general population know more about this disability, which in the past people seemed to have been reluctant to talk about.

In support of National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and Day, Tower Bridge International Education has reached out to our community in Murrieta to help one of their own. On March 24, 2019, TBI held its own Cerebral Palsy Awareness Event at Spencer’s Crossing. Prior to the event they identified Madison, a 5th grade student at Antelope Hills Elementary School in Murrieta as a person with Cerebral Palsy and having a special need. The money raised from that event was used to to create a custom tricycle for Madison to aid with her mobility.

Upon completion of that custom build, the tricycle was delivered to the Murrieta office of TBI and on May 21, 2019, a special presentation was made to Madison. Attending at the presentation were member of the Murrieta Valley School District Senior Administration, including Pat Kelley, district superintendent, and Principal of Antelope Hills Elementary, Mr. Preston Fairchild and Madison’s teacher Ms. Swanson. Madison was also accompanied by her mother Adrianne and Grandma Mary.
