Sunset League All Star Game!

When you put the best of the best together, a tie game makes for a competitive game. Brooke and Talissa played for the blue team, while the lucky white team got Mya as their goalie.

Thank you to all the sunset league teams and coaches for a great season. Wishing our fellow Temeculans, Chap and GOHS teams the best!

TVHS vs. Marina Playoffs:
For the 2nd time in four days, Temecula Valley's Field Hockey team went to Marina High School and as usual, it was another super tight game to determine who would advance in the playoffs.
There were a ton of challenges, a ton of exciting plays, shots, fine defense and excitement. Sarah tied the score 1-1 in the third quarter with a terrific goal, but Marina got one with about five minutes left and that was the difference as the Bears season came to an end.

Once again, it was a thrilling game, ultra-competitive, and showed how strong and focused these young ladies are. They may not win every game but they are in every single one. We played in 9 games where the game was decided by one goal!

We were missing a couple of players, including our star goalie, Maya, but JV goalie Janelle, who had never played field hockey before this season, stepped up and played her first Varsity game ... a playoff game no less! She was great, as were all our girls.

We have been proud and honored to have been a part of all this and hope these wonderful athletes know how special they are. Our season is now over but the memories remain! Brooke, Sarah, Breana, Naomi, Benae, Talissa, Kylie, Teagan, Mallory, Maya, Rafaella, Jordan, Alex, Abby, Aurora, Logan, and Lorena are all stars in our minds!

Go Bears!

TVHS vs. Marina:
TV Field Hockey traveled to Marina High School knowing we needed a win for a shot at the playoffs. What resulted was an incredible game, one that I wish was on tape. For four quarters, both teams battled but no one scored.
Up next: 7 v 7 sudden death overtime. If there was no score after that, the game would end in a tie, and Great Oak would go to the playoffs. Once again the teams battled and TV's defense stepped up to defend 4 short corners, which was all 6 of their attackers against 3 defenders by rule. With about 12 seconds left in overtime and the season on the line, Brooke Foster hit a pass to Talissa Nguyen just beyond the 50 and she was fouled. With about 5 seconds left, Brooke passed to Lorena Jimenez who was racing down toward goal, and with a second on the clock took the shot. The ball slammed into the back of the net, sending TV to the playoffs and setting off a massive celebration! The refs told me that was one of the most exciting games they'd ever seen! Details on playoff time and who we play to come!

So proud and happy for our Lady Bears!

JV then had to follow that and played great. We had all 10 JV players this time, and McKenna Lee scored her first ever goal to tie the game at 1-1.
Unfortunately, Marina tapped in one more and TV lost 2-1. However, we were very proud and impressed by how they played.

It was a great way to end their season. Go Bears!
