With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education (piano emphasis), a Master of Arts degree in Vocal Pedagogy (the teaching of voice), and over 40 years of experience in a variety of situations, I can help music students of any age or level develop and improve their musical skills. Teaching is my passion, my life's chosen work! Every student is unique, with his/her own musical goals. Some come to develop and improve their musical skill in order to achieve personal enrichment; others see their lessons as an integral part of their overall educational experience; and a few will strive to reach a level of expertise that will allow them to pursue a degree in music, and maybe even become a professional musician. All goals are respected and honored. Lessons in both voice and piano include work on technique, sight reading, ear training, and appropriate repertoire. Performance opportunites are available several times a year, and include recitals, local competitions, and Certificate of Merit evaluations...sponsored by the Music Teachers' Association of California. I am first and foremost a private voice and piano instructor, but I also provide my services as a piano accompanist to both vocalists and instrumentalists who are preparing for upcoming performances.
