✨ A Dot, a Little Curiosity & a Whole Lot of Wonder! ✨
Our Hummingbird Hub is always humming with open-ended explorations, and yesterday was no exception! 🌿🐦
In celebration of National Dot Day, our Nature & Wonder Curator, Miss Amanda, shared the beloved book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and then invited our Hummingbirds to experiment with paint, paper, and a collection of playful dot-shaped stencils she had prepared.
And then… the discovery began! 🎨
Instead of simply painting the circles, our Hummingbirds noticed what happened when they painted within the stencils and around the shapes. They experimented with color, layering, patterns, negative space, and their own ideas.
One little invitation became so many different discoveries. 💛
This is what we love about the Hummingbird Hub — we provide the materials, the invitation, and the space… and then we step back and let children’s curiosity lead the way.
Because sometimes the most beautiful learning happens when we don’t tell children what to make. We simply give them something to wonder about. ✨
A little dot can become a whole world of possibilities.
