Kim Strobel, Strobel Education

“Those who know fear can be the most fearless”
________________________________________

For some people, trouble is a launching pad to greater things. Kim Strobel is one of those individuals. She knows whereof she speaks when she says that conquering fear and achieving greatness is possible. Born in tiny Tell City, Indiana to a

house painter father and a stay at home mother, Kim struggled through her childhood and teen years with panic attacks and crippling fear. By her junior year in high school, she was diagnosed with seizure disorders and, by her early twenties, full panic disorder. It appeared that she would be unable to achieve her dreams without a miracle of some kind. But, she never gave up on the idea of getting better, and a combination of exposure therapy and a sheer act of will produced that miracle that keeps on giving all these years down the road. Once her fears began to subside, Kim laid out an ambitious plan to get her college degree. She would begin working at five AM every day in a clerical job, and then at 1 PM she would leave for the University of Southern Indiana to work on a degree in Elementary Education. The long hours and hard work turned out to be worth it, and she credits her early struggles with helping her see the world in a different way. “In a way, my panic attacks became the teachers in my life,” she says. “I learned that life is a gift and that we are all meant to experience joy, happiness, purpose, and meaning. I also learned what’s possible when you try hard enough. There is always a way.”

After teaching elementary school for seven years and absolutely loving it, she left to become an education consultant, a job that required 80 hour weeks, but would be another intense learning period for her. Within the time, she also attained her administrative degree and went on to become a curriculum director always staying in the trenches with teachers. All these experiences, turned out to be great preparation for the launch of her own company, Strobel Education. The goal of the company and her work is singular: “I feel like teachers, for the most part, are very discouraged and I understand why they feel that way,” she says. Many teachers walk into the classroom and they feel like they’ve lost. I want to help them remember why they were called to this profession in the first place.”

She is uniquely gifted to be a great encourager. Her life has been spent conquering her own fears and challenging the naysaying voices in her life, whether within or without. Along the way, she has become a teacher, a consultant, a speaker, an aspiring author, and a mission minded person who has found her calling. She is grateful, even for the difficult trials and tribulations that have sometimes beset her. The truth is, she never would have gotten here without them. She lives in Tell City with her husband, Scott. They have four children, and one grandbaby.

🌟 16 years ago, I had a special student named Corey in my 4th-grade classroom. The first pic is his school photo from back then, and the second is from his college graduation. Corey is one of the most perseverant people I know.

He faced tremendous challenges, coming from a trauma-filled background where basic needs often went unmet. Most days, he arrived at school hungry and resistant to doing any schoolwork. Yet, on Fridays, he hesitated to leave our classroom, knowing his trailer lacked food and electricity.

That year, I learned Corey’s story—behind his behavior was a boy who simply needed to feel safe, valued, and loved. He was pleading to be seen and understood, and he needed a lifeline.

In my “Remember Your Why” keynote, I share Corey’s journey to remind educators that it's easy to feel lost in a demanding profession. Many of our students face immense challenges, but Corey taught me to look beyond the behavior and see he was just a boy who needed to know he was loved and safe.

Last week, after presenting to 450 school leaders, a man named Clarence approached me with tears in his eyes. “Kim,” he said, “I was a Corey. That’s why I became a teacher. I wanted to be there for all the kids who feel lost and hopeless.” (Clarence is pictured in pic 3).

I gave Clarence the biggest hug and thanked him for being a teacher who knows his greatest job is simply to love his students.

When we teach people the exact habits that get their brain to positive more than negative, neutral, or stressed, we change how they show up for work and help them feel fully alive in the other parts of their life.

Positive brains are:

My publisher sent me this today!

#1 New Release still! 🥳

I just can’t believe this is happening. 🙈🙏🏼

Thank you to all the people who are buying this book! I love it when you send me a screenshot of it!

It makes me so excited to know that people will have this book and begin to create a life that brings them a lot more happiness.

I’ve been asked a lot if this is a book that will help you if you’re not a teacher.

The answer is YES!

This is a book about how each of us can learn to get a whole lot happier in our lives!

I have related parts of the chapters to the teaching profession because my heart hurts for teachers and the overwhelming demands placed on them. I believe this book can help them, and YOU get your power back when life feels like it has become too much.

But EVERY HAPPINESS HABIT in this book will elevate anyone’s life.

These are the habits I’ve used to go from a less than happy person to a happy person a whole lot of the time.

You can order on Amazon here! https://a.co/d/72rcsQ0

They are also at Barnes & Noble!

Yesterday, I did a 20 mile run on my book launch birthday. My husband drove me to the interstate and dropped me off to run back home. 🤣

And the turkey beat me to the UPS box and my book had arrived!

It’s here! If you want to get happier in your life, this is the blueprint for how to do so!

Yes it’s written with teachers in mind, but the happiness habits I teach are applicable to every human being!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking to students in the Doctor of Education in Ed Leadership program at High Point University in North Carolina.

This is a four-course series that results in an educational entrepreneurship graduate certificate. I love that this college offers educational entrepreneurship!

Until last night, I didn't realize how passionate I am about entrepreneurship. It lit me up to speak to these doctoral students who are all pursuing their education passions and are ready to show up and serve the world with their impact.

Just wait and see! These edu-entrepreneurs have much to contribute to the world of education.

Big thanks to my new friend, Norm Cooling, for making this happen and to Dr. Lou!

Cover Reveal!

A few weeks back, I asked you to vote on the cover, and you showed up so well at that request. THANK YOU!

The whole process of creating and birthing a book baby is so interesting because, at the end of the day, it's not for me. It's for you!

But being the author makes me responsible for making decisions that will shape the impact this book has on you. When I stop to think about it, it blows my mind.

I kept struggling between two of the book covers that I loved, but one was calling me just a bit more than the others.

And wouldn't ya know it, the one that I liked just a little bit better than the close second was the one that got the most votes by a margin of about twenty, including email responses and my Facebook responses.

So here it is!!!

I have yet to see the book in real life because it’s undergoing the very last revisions, but we are so close!

And I know the date the book will be released, but I’m keeping that a secret for now. It is in April, if anyone wants to guess a date.

P.S. The blue background cover was the close second. I loved that one too and so did many of you. 🤗
