This October, our little learners here at The Learning Experience are diving into My Emotions and Feelings, a curriculum theme designed to help children better understand what they’re feeling, express themselves, and build the social-emotional skills they’ll use every day. 🌈💬

With Miss Chievous by their side, children will explore the many emotions they experience and discover simple ways to navigate big feelings. ✨

Learning how to understand our feelings is an important part of learning how to care for ourselves, connect with others, and grow with confidence. 💕 We can't wait to see what this month of exploration and discovery brings! 🌱

Our Wonderful Me curriculum is giving our little learners opportunities to explore one of their favorite subjects—themselves! Using personalized photo props, the children are practicing self-recognition while teachers encourage them to identify and talk about their own facial features.
Experiences like this support important early learning skills including receptive and expressive language, cognitive development, body awareness, and social-emotional development. As teachers name features such as eyes, nose, mouth, and hair, our little learners begin connecting new vocabulary to something very familiar—their own faces!
Our curriculum turns everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences, and this month it’s all about discovering what makes ME so wonderful!

Our little learners got quite the surprise when today’s classroom puzzle featured a very familiar face—their own!
For our Wonderful Me theme, the children were challenged to piece together their individual photos. They studied each section, turned and matched the pieces, and watched as a face they knew very well began to appear. The smiles when they realized “That’s me!” were definitely the best part! This activity turned a traditional puzzle into something personal, meaningful, and SO much fun. After all, what better way to celebrate Wonderful Me than by being the star of your very own puzzle?!

It's the International Day of Sign Languages, and our very own Gibby Gibbon is so excited to celebrate! 🥳

Gibby was born deaf and is passionate about teaching our little learners how to communicate with sign language. He teaches us that our differences make us special and encourages us to embrace the abilities of others! 🤟🐵

At TLE, we’re proud to introduce sign language in our Infant classrooms, empowering our littlest learners to communicate their needs before they can speak verbally. Sign language continues throughout our classrooms, supporting language development, reducing frustration, and fostering inclusion as children grow. ❤️

Our Twaddlers had a very important artist to study today… THEMSELVES! With mirrors in hand, they took a close look at their faces before bringing their reflections to life on paper.
From choosing the perfect pieces for their hair to adding their own little facial details, each child created a portrait that was completely their own. This hands-on experience gave our Twaddlers a fun opportunity to recognize their features, make choices, and strengthen those growing fine-motor skills. It fits perfectly with our Wonderful Me theme because we’re learning one very important lesson: there’s nobody else in the world exactly like ME!
And judging by those proud smiles… we think they nailed it!
