Little Indian Preschool was established in 1973 by Tecumseh parents who wanted parental involvement to be integral to their child’s preschool experience. We are located at 605 Bishop Reed Dr., Tecumseh inside the United Methodist Church. Our state-licensed program is directed by a qualified teacher, professionally trained in early childhood education and development. Along with one teacher's assis
tant and 1-2 parents on a rotating schedule, providing a low adult/student ratio which ensures individualized attention. We have grown to offer 2 classes, with the following schedules:
Tuesday and Thursday: 9 am – 12 pm
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9 am – 12 pm
Children attending must 3 years old by September 1st for the Tuesday/Thursday class or 4 years old by September 1st for the Monday/Wednesday/Friday class. We operate from September through May and following the schedule of the Tecumseh Public Schools. The preschool is a child-sized world with a variety of developmentally appropriate materials for our students to choose from. Activities such as crafts, music, dramatic play, and physical activities allowing children to develop language and thinking skills as well as fine and gross motor abilities. A child’s main business is playing, which offers them the opportunity to learn and lays the groundwork for more specific and formal academic learning in years to come.
