Attention to all students!

Zoom has recently changed their policy for one-on-one meetings. There is now a 40-minute time limit which affects all students whom I work with on Zoom. As a result, I am hoping to have all online lessons switched over to Skype ASAP.

Lessons are happening, live and in-person! Here are some guidelines currently in place:

* If you are or have been ill, or been in contact with anyone who has Covid symptoms, lessons will not take place.
* A mask or face covering must be worn by both student and teacher at all times.
* Parents/spouses/friends of students will not be allowed into the lesson. They're welcome to wait outside in their car or in the garden.
* Minimise risk by bringing only the necessary equipment into the lesson.
* Wash your hands before you begin your lesson, or use hand sanitizer or wipes.
* The length of time in contact with others is also considered a significant factor in COVID transmission risks, therefore lesson times will be limited to 60 minutes.
*The current distance default remains six feet. If six feet is not achievable, a minimum of three feet is permissible but only if mitigating actions are taken. These can include wearing face coverings, protective visors, arranging the music room to maximise the distance between you and your teacher.
* Only I will open/close doors, windows, light switches, A/C controls, etc, in order to minimise points of contact.
* Joint handling of materials, including paper, pencils, metronomes, tuners, rags and instruments will be avoided.

FRETLESS..

Ever wanted to try a fretless guitar? I have a student who couldn't resist the temptation and had the frets removed and filled in. Admittedly, I've always been curious as to how violinists lived, and how my sense of intonation would hold up after 45 years of playing. What a hoot! If anyone wants to stop by for a test drive, I'll have the guitar for another 10 days. Give it a spin!
