Black Box Studios Theater, Music, Comedy and Collaborative Performing Arts Workshops since 2007 Now based in Englewood, NJ! It’s a family. Here, I found my entire group of friends.

BBS - at The Black Box PAC - offers collaborative theater. improv, and music workshops and performance for adults, teens, and children. Cutting-edge productions and innovative programs for students of all ages, experience levels, and backgrounds run year-round. BBS also teaches acting classes and runs drama clubs in private schools and day schools in Bergen County and the Greater New York area; offers private coaching in acting, singing, and musical theater; and has popular summer intensive theater programs for kids and teens. The experience of Black Box’s professional teaching artists covers all disciplines- acting, singing, dancing, music performance and composition, directing, producing, writing, managing, and lighting- and comes from Broadway, off-Broadway, film, concerts, television, and new media. They teach using an improv-based method that BBS’ founders developed during their years working in theater in New York City.

“Black Box Studios is more than just a theater company. My BBS friends are the ones who come over to my house every weekend, and the ones who will break into song in front of a store with me. Black Box is serious and devoted to theater that thrives on making their students experiences easy-going, non-judgmental, and happy. Black Box has changed my life.”
-Margo S.

“I’ve been pushed far beyond what I thought was my comfort zone at BBS, and I’m happier than ever…BBS is a family, not just a company.”
-Haia B.

“If I hadn’t started at BBS years ago, I would be a completely different person. I don’t know what I would be doing now. I have matured so much and made so many close friends here. I found the thing I really love to do and I am super happy.”
-Aliza O.
