Many wedding directories advertise attractive "starting at" prices, but those numbers don't always tell the whole story.

A listed starting price might represent:

A solo violinist instead of a string quartet
A duo or trio rather than four musicians
A limited promotional package
A short performance with no customization
A wedding located very close to the musicians

None of those prices are necessarily misleading; they simply may not reflect the service you're actually looking for. Learn more in our latest blog

Did you know that New Jersey is one of the busiest wedding markets in the country? In 2025 alone, nearly 50,000 couples were married in the Garden State. Since most weddings take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, hundreds of couples are competing for the same vendors every weekend.

If live music is part of your vision, waiting until the last minute could mean missing out on your first choice. Learn more in our latest blog.

Planning your wedding and wondering what a string quartet actually costs?

The answer isn't always as simple as a number. Pricing can vary based on your venue, travel, performance time, custom music requests, and more. That's why comparing "starting at" prices online doesn't always tell the whole story.

In our latest blog, Iceni Ensemble founder Larry Marino explains what goes into the cost of a professional wedding string quartet, what couples should look for when comparing quotes, and how to budget for live music with confidence.

Some songs seemed destined to be played by a string quartet.

For me, one of those songs is Always by Atlantic Starr. The first time I heard it, I could already imagine the warmth of the violins, the richness of the viola, and the cello carrying its heartbeat-like pulse. What starts as a beloved love song can become something entirely different – and deeply moving – when arranged for strings.

In my latest blog, I share the creative process behind arranging music for string quartet, along with a few songs I've recently transformed for wedding ceremonies and why they work so beautifully. Read the blog and discover how familiar melodies can take on a whole new life.
