Challah Sale
In 11 months, we will celebrate Sidney’s Bar Mitzvah. In additional learning to read from the Torah, he is undertaking a chesed (kindness) project. Throughout the year we will be preparing and offering for sale various foods to raise money for Chesed 24/7.
Chesed 24/7 is an amazing organization that provides a wide array or services to our community. Personally, while I was in hospital(s) after a major spinal surgery that went horribly awry, Chesed 24/7 was there for me and our family. They provided Sabbath meals for almost 2 months, at Hackensack Medical Center and rehab at Kessler, while I was recovering from my ordeal at Pascack Valley (Death Valley). And previously, which I was unaware of at the time, we benefitted greatly from the Sabbath/kosher kitchen and pantry they stock at Englewood Hospital’s maternity ward.
As some of you know I have been baking Challah for a while and the reviews have been really amazing. Sidney’s first event will be a challah sale. We will have available large(750g) egg challahs with a choice of the following toppings for $12.00:
Sesame
Poppy
Everything Bagel
Caraway
Zatar
Pretzel Salt
Crystal Sugar
Caraway and Pretzel Salt (my favorite)
Challah is available this week pick-up only (Teaneck) Friday by 5, orders must be received by 6pm Thursday 10/14. Please indicate desired topping and quantity. Cash and Venmo accepted. PM me with any questions.
