The children at our Fairview Head Start Preschool Classroom enjoyed their first week of school! The children have been building relationships with our teaching staff and making new friends, all while learning new things!

The students at our Powell Valley Head Start Preschool Center have been enjoying the phase-in period which was full of fun, learning, and new friendships!

The children have enjoyed getting to know their new classroom, meeting Fernando Frog, and learning all about their marvelous bodies. We have been talking about what makes each of us special while exploring healthy habits like eating nutritious foods, keeping our bodies clean, getting plenty of rest, and taking care of ourselves. Most importantly, the children have been making new friends, building relationships with their teachers, and becoming more comfortable in their new learning environment.

We are so proud of how much they have grown and learned during these first two weeks!

Our Clairfield Center has had a few visitors this week!

Before our bus drill, School Resource Officer, William Roark, from the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office, talked to the children about car seat safety!

We also had the Animal Control Officer, Billy Allen, from the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office, visit us and show the children his truck, along with handing out stickers and bracelets!

The children were so excited. Thank you Officer Roark and Officer Allen for visiting our children!

The Clinch-Powell Educational Cooperative Head Start Preschool/Early Head Start Program is seeking to fill the position of Head Start Preschool Teacher for our Powell Valley Center.

The Teacher position requires an organized, responsible and reliable individual who enjoys working with preschoolers and is willing to work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Responsibilities include school readiness preparation for up to 17 preschoolers, timely completion of child assessments and program records, as well as relationship-building with families. Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in child
development, early childhood education, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. This position is a five-day per week, ten-month per year position. Benefits include health and dental insurance, Tennessee State Retirement, and paid vacation/sick leave. Salary will be based upon education and experience.
