Spencer County High School is proud to announce a partnership with We Lead CS, the state’s first virtual Computer Science Academy, which will begin in the 2025-26 academic year. Students and families interested in these career pathway opportunities are encouraged to attend our Family Engagement Night event on Thursday, November 7th at 5:30 p.m. in the SCHS cafeteria. Mark your calendars for freshman orientation and open house! Both are on July 30th! Freshman orientation is for students only and will be from 9-11am. Open house is for everyone and will take place that evening! Freshmen can come from 5-6, and everyone else from 6-7:30! We are looking forward to having our Bears back in the building!

(The 2024-25 FAFSA has opened with a soft launch period. This means that the form will be available periodically as Federal Student Aid monitors site performance and form functionality and works to improve the user experience. Due to the frequent outages and reports of glitches in the form, please be patient and know that KHEAA has resources to assist you while you wait, such as the FAFSA Completion Guide and 2024-25 Walk-Through Video (links below). We will continue to post updates and information as it’s made available. )

We’re hosting a college and career fair next week in the gym! Next Wednesday, juniors and seniors will be receiving information to take with them into the fair. We encourage all juniors and seniors to attend, if possible!

Sgt. Zack Morris with the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch will be speaking on important topics related to Social Media and Internet Safety. Such topics will include Online Predators and red flags of what to look for, sexting, sextortion, cyber-bullying and current trends in social media. He will also provide useful tips for parents on what they can do to be more proactive in protecting their children from online predators along with resources for parents to use on their children’s electronic devices. All parents are invited. Due to the nature of the topics to be discussed, we ask that no children attend.
