✨ HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK: A Recurring Headache Finally Finds Relief
This 45-year-old client is under chronic care for perimenopause, Hashimoto’s, and hypothyroidism. She previously experienced headaches once or twice a week.
By addressing several underlying factors—including food sensitivities, inflammation, estrogen imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, gut permeability, and high histamine levels—her headaches decreased to approximately once a month, and sometimes she goes months without one.
But when a headache did return, it could last all night. Conventional pain relievers didn’t help.
Her symptoms were very specific:
• Dull, pressing pain over the right eyebrow and temple
• Better from ice packs, chewing, and pressure on the right jaw
• Worse from bright light and sunlight
• No appetite
• Drinking water made her feel sick
In homeopathic case analysis, the right-sided location and temple involvement can point toward remedies with an affinity for the liver and gallbladder pattern. Her hormonal history and previous positive response to Sepia also helped narrow the remedy choice.
I suggested Sanguinaria canadensis—a remedy known for right-sided headaches and its strong association with hormonal and menopausal patterns.
Luckily, she already had it in one of her homeopathic remedy kits!
She noticed improvement after the first dose, and within a few hours, the headache was completely gone.
Normally, she would lose sleep and wake the next morning with what she described as a “shadow of the headache,” still needing time to recover. This time, she woke up feeling great and even completed a difficult workout!
Homeopathy truly is an art. The location, sensation, triggers, what brings relief, and the person’s overall health history can all help guide us toward the most closely matched remedy.
Have you ever experienced a headache that nothing seemed to help? Have you considered how an individualized homeopathic approach might support you?
