We are celebrating Utah Deaf History here at Accessibility & Disability Services!
We’re so proud to highlight the publications of ADS’s very own Jodi Becker, who has helped preserve and share the rich history of Utah’s Deaf community!
The Utah Historical Society recently published Jodi’s work, the biography of Dr. Robert G. Sanderson, namesake of the Robert G. Sanderson Community Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The biography explores his contributions to the Deaf community in Utah and across the United States.
Jodi has also contributed to preserving the story of Elizabeth DeLong, whose legacy is honored through the Elizabeth DeLong School at the Utah School for the Deaf.
For two decades, Jodi has also maintained Utah Deaf History at utahdeafhistory.com, which is a comprehensive resource dedicated to documenting and sharing the history of Utah’s Deaf community.
Thank you, Jodi, for your dedication to preserving these important stories and making Utah Deaf history accessible for all future generations!
