Location Update
Weekend School will now be held at the UIC, and the first class will be on 02/15.
First Day Focus: Expectations & Positive Learning Environment
On the first day, teachers will focus on setting clear expectations with students.
Students will review an age-appropriate classroom agreement with their teachers.
Each student will sign the agreement as a commitment to respectful behavior, focus, and participation.
This step is meant to empower students and help create consistency across all classrooms.
Phone Policy (Effective Immediately)
To help students stay focused and engaged:
Phones are not allowed during school hours.
If a student brings a phone:
It must be placed in a labeled Ziploc bag
Phones will be stored securely in the office
Phones will be returned only after the last class
We appreciate your support in reviewing this policy with your child before Sunday.
Improved Supervision & Recess Structure
We are working to ensure better teacher-to-student ratios.
Recess times will be staggered so students are in smaller, more manageable groups.
These changes are designed to improve supervision, safety, and student interactions.
Ramadan Preparation – First Day Activities
All classes will include Ramadan preparation activities on the first day.
Students will engage in age-appropriate discussions and activities focused on:
Understanding the meaning of Ramadan
Building good habits and character
Setting intentions and goals for the blessed month
Curriculum & Learning Materials
Teachers are finalizing their teaching plans for the semester.
We are also working on student booklets to support learning and consistency across classes.
How You Can Support Your Child (and the School)
Your partnership is essential to creating a positive experience for all students. We kindly ask for your support by:
Reviewing school expectations and the phone policy with your child
Encouraging respectful behavior toward teachers and classmates
Reinforcing the importance of focus, effort, and good character
Communicating with us if there are concerns so we can address them together
We truly believe that when parents and teachers work together, our children benefit the most.
