Mrs. Washington’s ASL class got a little messy on purpose. 👀

Students put their signing skills into action by learning how to give commands in ASL. Mrs. Washington turned the classroom into their practice space, creating a mess for students to clean up by following signed instructions. Then it was their turn to take the lead, giving commands to one another.

Learning a language means more than memorizing signs. It means using it, communicating with it, and sometimes cleaning up a classroom with it.

🦆 Your Story Matters.

Dear Taylor High School families,

In light of the difficult circumstances at Taylor High School, today’s Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., have been canceled. This cancellation includes the indoor pep rally that would have taken place in the event of inclement weather.

We know how much our students, families, and community look forward to these Homecoming traditions each year. At this time, Homecoming activities scheduled for the remainder of the week will continue as planned, including Friday’s Taylor High School Homecoming Pep Rally. We will communicate promptly if there are any additional schedule changes.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

Taylor High School Homecoming Parade & Community Pep Rally
Wednesday, September 30

Taylor High School is excited to welcome our community to celebrate Homecoming this Wednesday! The parade begins at 6:30 PM, followed by the Community Pep Rally at Taylor Stadium. Parade participants should arrive by 6:00 PM. Please review the attached map for the parade route, parking, viewing area and road closures. Closures will begin around 5:45 PM, with Wesley Miller Lane closing around 6:25 PM.

Weather Backup Plan

We are monitoring the weather and will make a final decision by 2:00 PM Wednesday. If conditions are not suitable for outdoor events, we will pivot to an indoor plan for the safety of our students, families, staff and community. If activated, the parade and outdoor Community Pep Rally will be canceled, and an indoor Homecoming Pep Rally will begin at 6:30 PM in the THS Gym.

Due to limited capacity, the indoor pep rally will be limited to students and their families participating in THS Athletics, Band, Color Guard, Steppers, Cheer, Homecoming Court and TMS Athletics.

Any changes will be communicated by 2:00 PM Wednesday.
We’re hoping for great weather and look forward to celebrating with Duck Nation! 🦆

🎓💚 Taylor High School hosted its LARGEST College Fair ever! Our College, Career & Military Readiness Program welcomed 85+ colleges, trade schools, and businesses, 120+ representatives, six area high schools, and more than 800 students to THS! The best part? Watching students have meaningful conversations, make connections, and explore the incredible college, career, trade, and military opportunities available for their futures.
A HUGE thank you to our Culinary students and staff for providing an amazing lunch for our recruiters, our students who helped greet, host and with cleanup, and our maintenance staff for the tremendous behind-the-scenes work that made an event of this size possible.
💚🤍 Taylor Ducks are on the MOVE! 🦆
