with Mackenzie: Serving the community runs in the family.

Planning for retirement is about more than savings accounts and budgets. It also means making important health care choices, and on this week's Medicare Mondays with Mackenzie, Makenzie Anderson of Premier Medicare Solutions, Inc. brought a very personal perspective to the conversation. This time, she was joined by her father, Brian Winterowd, making it a true family affair as they discussed how trusted guidance can help make the transition into retirement much easier.

Nine years ago, I took a leap of faith and started Premier Medicare Solutions. This month, I'm celebrating 9 years of serving this community, and I couldn't be more grateful.

A lot of life has happened since 2017. I got engaged, got married, bought a house, and became a mom. My husband and I have also walked through real hardship. Since we got married, we've lost more than 10 family members. Through all of it, this business gave me something I'll never take for granted: the flexibility to be there for my family, including time to care for my son through his health issues.

The best part of this work has always been the people. My clients have become family to me. And the agent community I get to work alongside has made every challenge worth it.

Owning a business is not a walk in the park. There have been moments I wanted to throw in the towel. But when I step back and look at everything this career has blessed my life and my family's life with, I know I'd do it all over again.

Thank you to every client who has trusted me with something as important as your healthcare. Here's to year 10.

Did you know your Medicare premiums could be higher than expected — and it might have nothing to do with the plan you chose? 😳

This week on Medicare Mondays, I sat down with Trevor from We Are Austin to talk about IRMAA — the Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount. It's one of the most common Medicare surprises I see, and honestly, most people have never heard of it until it shows up on their bill.

The good news? In some situations, you can appeal it — and planning ahead can help you avoid it altogether.
Click the link to read the full article and learn what to watch for. As always, if you have questions about your specific situation, I'm happy to help — and there's no cost to work with me. 💙

Hey friends 👋 I wanted to share something important that's affecting about 1.3 million Medicare beneficiaries right now — and I want to make sure my clients and anyone following along knows exactly what's going on.

CMS is reissuing Medicare cards with new Medicare numbers. This is happening because of data breaches at claims processing vendors that potentially exposed some Medicare numbers. If yours was affected, a new card will arrive or may have already arrived in the mail, effective April 14th.

Here's what you need to do:

✅ Got a new card? Bring it to your next doctor's appointment so they can update your records. Your coverage is NOT changing — just your number.

✅ Didn't get a new card? Your number wasn't part of the breach. Nothing to do.

Now here's the part I really need you to pay attention to ⬇️
Scammers are already taking advantage of this news. Medicare will NEVER call you out of the blue asking for your Medicare number. If someone calls claiming to be from Medicare and asks you to "confirm" your number — that is a scam. Hang up.

Red flags to watch for:

📵 They called YOU
⚠️ They say your benefits will be suspended
💳 They ask for your Medicare number, Social Security number, or bank info
🚨 They offer to "rush" your new card to you

Your new card comes by mail. That's it. No phone call required.

Questions? Send me a message or give me a call. That's what I'm here for. 💙

You can read more directly from CMS at medicare.gov.

Medicare Mondays with Mackenzie!

can feel straightforward until an unexpected hospital stay triggers costs that many people don't plan for. That’s where hospital indemnity plans come in, offering another option for people looking to better manage out-of-pocket expenses that can arise even when they already have Medicare.

Mackenzie Anderson, a licensed agent with Premier Medicare Solutions, Inc., joined the show for “Medicare Monday” to explain what hospital indemnity plans are and how they can fit alongside a regular Medicare plan.
