We also want to give a huge shout out to these students who volunteered their time to build a rocking chair for a student in our Structured Teaching Unit! Students collaborated, and followed directions to build the chair for their peer. Thanks, Scott Buddy Club, for including us!

Today, students tried something new!

We started at our day with a spirited game of “Soup, Salad, or Sandwich” (The theory is that every food with two or more ingredients can be classified as a soup, a salad, or a sandwich.) students verbally debated these topics.

We discussed how frustrating it can be to verbally share your opinion. Students made list of positive and negative outcomes of verbal interactions.

Then, the challenge was set. Students had to pick a topic to debate silently. They did this through writing back-and-forth, with their opposing views.

It was a very successful day that culminated in a discussion about how professionals communicate in the workplace.

Yesterday, students had a lesson on perspective. We discussed having different perspectives, what builds perspective in a person, and how perspective differences can influence us as employees.

To culminate, each student was given half of a coloring sheet, and not told who had the other half. Each student colored their half to the best of their ability, and then combined to make the whole picture.

Every piece builds a complete picture, and every perspective is different

Our JAG program is looking for volunteers to come speak to our classes about careers. We would love to have a great variety of people in all trades come and do hands on activities with us!

Our students are interested in a long spectrum of possibilities after high school!

If you are interested, or you are able, please comment below, and a member will be reaching out to you!

ALL students have to complete the Online Registration (OLR) on Infinite Campus. This is for current students and new students.
We have only 60% completed and we need ALL students!

Your student will not be able to get a school device if they haven’t completed the OLR.
