Calling all 3rd–5th grade Bullpup families! 🐾

Join us for CHIPS ’n TIPS, an evening designed to help take some of the mystery (and stress!) out of FAST testing.

📅 Thursday, August 27
⏰ 5:30–6:30 PM
📍 Tavares Elementary

Come enjoy some chips and light refreshments while we:

🐾 Break down what to expect on the FAST assessment
💡 Share tips to help your child prepare and feel confident
🏠 Give you simple strategies you can use at home
❤️ Partner together to help our Bullpups succeed!

📬 Be on the lookout! Chips ’n Tips flyers will be sent home with students on Monday, August 17.

Please complete the RSVP portion and return it to school by Friday, August 21 so we know your family is coming!

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow—and every Wednesday—is Early Dismissal! ⏰

School lets out at 2:00 PM for everyone!

We love your kids, but at 2:00 PM, it's time for them to head home! 😅 Whether your Bullpup is a car rider, bus rider, or walker, please make sure plans are set so they can depart safely and on time:

Car Riders: Please be in the pickup line ready for a 2:00 PM dismissal. 🚗💨

Bus Riders: Buses will begin to roll out right after the 2:00 PM bell. 🚌

Walkers: Remind your kiddos to head straight home at 2:00 PM! 🚶‍♂️

Thanks for helping us make dismissal smooth for everyone! See you tomorrow!

Hello Tavares Elementary School Families,

Tomorrow is the first day of school and I wanted to provide a few updates. Bus loop and car rider drop off points have been adjusted this school year. The new car drop off area is in the front of the school and will be accessed by turning right from Medford Avenue. Maps and instructions have been posted on our school website and pages. With any start of the school year, traffic will be a little heavy with families opting to come by car the first couple days before students start riding our buses. Please be patient and be aware of pedestrians in crosswalks. It is also a good idea to write the first and last name of your child on their backpack, lunchbox, and when it starts getting cooler out in a couple months, their jacket. Many times a classmate will have the same backpack or lunchbox and we want to make sure a lost item gets back to the correct student. All students receive free breakfast and lunch at Tavares Elementary. If a child wants to have breakfast in the morning, we ask that they head directly to the cafeteria when they are dropped off. We will have school staff and additional district support throughout campus to make sure students get to their class safely in the morning. This is going to be an exciting year and I look forward to working with our students and their families.

Meet the Teacher Event – Wednesday, August 5th

Dear Tavares Elementary School Families,

This is Kevin Schichtel, your new Principal. I am excited to invite each of you to our Meet the Teacher event scheduled for this Wednesday, August 5th. To help everything run smoothly, families are scheduled to attend during designated time windows based on the student's last name:
Last names A through J: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Last names K through R: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Last names S through Z: 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Parking Options:
You can park in our main front parking lot, the front gravel lot, or the grassy area located along E Clifford St. near the ballfield

Upon your arrival, please visit the cafeteria for class list information:
We will have stations set up to provide you with details on:
Bus routes and recent adjustments to the bus loop and car rider drop-off/pick-up zones
Registration details for the ELC before and after school care program
Resources from various community programs and partners
Backpacks will be provided to our Kindergarten students
Meet our new Principal - Kevin Schichtel
