Posture is a very varied thing when it comes to singing. Some singers lean in, some pull back, some seem to just float there.
So when it counts what do you do?
Is there a best practice for Posture?
This can and has become a topic of much debate among singers.
I usually recommend what I call a. Worship Posture.
( look towards the heavens )
Keeping the back top part of your head over tail bone, and your shoulders over the hips.
Remember, it all starts with the skeletal structure, so if your frame is in balance, all the more likely your voice will function better as well. It makes sense.
God is all about balance and order.
This optimum alignment will keep both the vocal tract and the thorax more open and aligned, and help you take undo stress off of the vocal chords.
